This place was extraordinarily cheap for a lot of reasons. Front desk and staff are off the charts helpful and friendly, The restaurant has amazing and not overpriced dishes. The gym is fantastic, the pool is just awesome, the view of the ocean from my room was a very pleasant one (room 532), There are a lot of places to visit near the hotel, the rooms are very big and very clean, the inroom air conditioner makes no sound at all compared to any hotel I´ve ever been, the bathroom is very big and clean, there is a very useful business center, there is free internet, prices of room services are great (not overly expensive), furniture in the room is old but not unpleasant or broken. I recommend this place for any type of visit to Santo Domingo. Great place and great attention.

An older hotel on the west side of Santo Doming, little known by non Dominicans, it has a spa
and health club that rivals the best but a a much lower price.

The pool is better than any other hotel in Santo Domingo.

I stayed at the Dominican Fiesta for three nights. I was on a vacation trip with my girlfriend. The first impression was not one of the best. At the check-in, we were not accommodated with the ocean view, even though the hotel was half empty. Apparently, it was only available for an extra charge...we had a bad feeling about this request. So we went for a city-view room, but when we got in, it smelled like smoke pretty bad, so we had it replaced. The room we received was not smelling smoke, but it had a strong smell of humidity/mold. I believe the A/C was not dehumidifying the air. Since we were coming from a 20 hour flight, we decided to stay there. The room was big and the bed comfortable. We were not impressed by the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The bathroom, in particular the shower, looked old and in need of an upgrade.
We had breakfast there for all the three days. It is a continental breakfast with a moderate selection. Everything we tried was good. The service was good.
The hotel has also a gym and a large pool. I spent a couple of days by the pool it was a very positive experience overall. You don't get any service by the pool. If you want something, you have to go to the pool bar.
the hotel has several free wi-fi open connections that offer a good bandwidth. I was able to remote desktop for hours without any interrupt.
The hotel is located in a good area and it's close to the Mirador.
Overall, it's a decent mid-range hotel and our stay was positive. The only very negative point was the strong smell of humidity (and also humidity itself) that we had in the room. But we were able to partially mitigate it by keeping the window open.

Room Tip: make sure the A/C works properly in your room, and with properly I mean it does de-humidify the air and does not produce a smell of mold.

Dear guest,
Thanks for taking your time to make your review.
We´ll take good note o the points you mention and hope to be able to improve them.
Just one more thing. Ocean view doesn´t have an extra charge in our Hotel. It is subject to availability, as all our guests want to enjoy the spectacular view, but you don´t have to pay for it.
We´ll check the procedures or the way to explain it, so there will be no misunderstanding about it.
Thank you and regards from Santo Domingo!!

If you are looking for a Great property within the city of Santo Domingo that will give good value and comfortable accommodations then I recommend you check out the Dominican Fiesta. The rooms are clean and the sheets are crisp, which may not sound impressive but given how humid that place is having freshly ironed, crip sheets when you are dog tired is like sleep nirvana. It seems to be a hotel that caters more to the business traveler but we crashed there on our 1 day tour of SD and it was great. There is a dining room on site the serves breakfast but I found it to be grossly overpriced even with the 25% discount we got ($24 USD pp). The have awesome pillows and the crank the AC so if you don'l like it on arctic be sure to request an extra blanket (or you could turn it down or off. Figured that out after I turned blue). And the bonus in all of this ..FREE WIFI!! you have no idea how precious that is on the island. The resort we stayed at previously charged us daily and the connection was available only in common areas. This hotel is lit up like a Christmas tree and if felt so awesome to finally be connected to the world after days of going off the grid. It is also located in a very nice part of the city that is mostly high rise condo's and town homes and and overlooks a park, so after a day of excursions its a nice escape.

Booked on line for two night for me and the wife ,was so cheap could not believe it when i arrived at the hotel .did not expect such a high standard for what we paid ,WiFi is a must and you had it free all over the hotel so i can keep working and keep an eye on my home and check in with the family ..
Worth booking on line, we got two night for what one has to pay at the desk for one night
so i was very impressed.

Room Tip: Top floor has a great view
