“Very beautiful garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

It's a bit far from the old town Zona Colonial but well worth a visit, take a taxi which should cost about 300 pesos. It's a huge park with lots of native and foreign species and there's a museum with a guide. The train trip is quite pleasant, with guide and beautiful views. Entry, museum and train ride are 200 pesos which is about 5 dollars. The flower clock is very beautiful and the Japanese garden is very well kept, so as the rest of the park.

“A haven of peace, especially Japanese Garden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

A lovely garden, not as big as we anticipated but worth a visit none the less. We took the 'train' ride-well worth the small cost, this stopped at the Japanese garden for a short while; we used the ride to orientate ourselves and then walked back to the places we had seen on the train that we particularly liked. It was lovely to enjoy the Japanese Garden on our own, so peaceful and beautiful and without any time restraints. I highly recommend this area.

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

The botanical gardens are beautiful and well kept. On previous occasions, the train ride announcers spoke both Spanish and English, which made the train part of the tour a natural for visitors. Our latest trip we observed that the tour is done only in Spanish now.

“Great place to run/relax/enjoy the view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

One of the largest green areas/park in Santo Domingo, located near the great suburb of Arroyo Hondo, where a lot of people go to relax, run outside or inside the park, take a stroll or go simply to the Botanical Gardens and visit the park, and the exhibitions. The Japanese Garden is beautiful, and good venue for wedding shootings!!

“Large area, do the train ride.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

We did the museum which was just some recreations of some landscapes found in the DR. Took us about 10 min. We then took the train ride around the park which was good. They stop at the Japanese gardens and you walk around for about 10 min. and then you finish the ride. We went with a 10 and 2 year old and were there about an hour to hour and a half. It was good to see once.
