“I love this beach, not so much the town.”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Boca Chica has always been one of my favorite beaches in the Dominican Republic. I love the fact that it feels more like a natural pool, than an actual beach. The color of the water is a beautiful turquoise blue. It has no waves and it is not deep, so it doesn’t matter if you know how to swim or not. Young children will love it. It is not hard to find a nice shaded area right by the water, and enjoy their famous fried fish with tostones (fried green plantains). The down side is that this beach can get very crowded, especially during the weekends because it is where many families from the capital city come. But this just adds more character to the fun if you don’t mind the crowds; otherwise some hotels in the area have private beach areas which you can enjoy if you are their guest. I would advise not going there at night though, as the town has become a prostitutes heaven for tourists.

“Not good for tourist”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Boca Chica is not what it once was, the area is pretty, the beach is fairly good but it is great for LOCALS and only for the ones that like to drink until they drop, if you are looking for prostitutes the Beach is Heaven, otherways stay away from it, now that is an honest review, I am sorry if I hurt someone but those facts are well known, just ask around.

“Boca Chica different to the to resorts”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Boca Chica is quite a nice place to be when there is not a public holiday (crowded) as this is the beach where the people from Santo Domingo go to at such days.
i enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear water, as well as the very nice white sandy beach.
you got some small shops there, and people selling fruits at the corner of the street - the Mango's are very nice from the Rep Dom.
if you stay at Santo Domingo, just go to the beach when you have some spare time :)

“One of the most beautiful beaches in the world”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

I've been to many beaches around the world...Acapulco, Turks & Caicos, Saint Lucia, and more, and this beach, Boca Chica is by far one of the most beautiful. The water is clear, the sand is near white, and the breeze is perfect; not too windy or forceful, and nice and warm. As with any vacation spots in the carribean you must watch your belongings carefully. We spent the day there at the beach. There are many restaurants along the beach and we actually had paella at one known as BoCana. It was exquisite, and so was the level of service.

“beach”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

with any vacation, a trip to the beach is part of the itinerary, so I went to the beach at boca chica, it is about fifteen minutes from the las Americas airport, the beach is clean not crowded like the others, you are alone with your family, it is an enjoyable day, after that there are many quality restaurants, shops for gifts to take back home and if you wish to stay over there are many quality hotels reasonably priced for every budget, then you can do some sightseeing in this small town and you are only about 40 minutes from santo domingo, I enjoy my day travelling around the town, people are very friendly and will help to guide you around , good if you decide to take in this beach and surroundings,
