There is a lot to do over here. The statue of Christopher Columbus is pretty cool. He points onward toward a new world. It is always surrounded with tourists and there are lots of pigeons that sit on the statue. Surrounding the park there are shops and restaurants (Hard Rock). It kinda reminded us of Europe. The park has a very interesting mix of people lots of locals sitting down and playing dominos/chess and lots of tourists. They even had little children on fieldtrips. I loved the feel of the park and would recommend it to anyone.

“Pigeons!”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

A nice place to hang out. The Columbus statue is very neat to see with the backdrop of the Cathedral. All of the shops and restaurants around the square makes it even more enjoyable. Fun to walk through or sit on a bench and enjoy the sites and sounds. Lots of pigeons....my daughter had one fly into her face so beware:)

“Great for people watching”

It would be a five but there are a lot of goods pushers that will follow you for a bit. Just say no nicely but firmly and it's actually a nice place once they leave you alone. Sometimes they are playing music in the park.

“fun colonial spot”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

it was a nice historic spot to visit. Can be done in a day. Surprisingly not that crowded when we were there. Safe, nice restaurants around, tourist police, horse cabs, ocean views

“Shade and people”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

This is the best place in the city to sit in the shade of large and very old trees and watch the city walk by while sipping on a freshly made lemonade from one of the local restaurants.
