The food at Naturalis Te in Santiago is some of the best, high quality, vegetarian food I've had anywhere. Delicious platters of carefully prepared and elegantly presented dishes that rival macrobiotic in terms of health, quality and what happens once inside your stomach. Plus a whole menu of other delicious foods - all very affordable. I'm an American yoga practitioner and vegetarian who has been dismayed by the Dominican love of meat and whatever MSG-laded spice is found in all their foods. Chicken, starchy viveres and rice. Everywhere. The same taste. Very little variety. My daughter and I go to this restaurant once a week and take everyone we know there. It is fast getting popular, even with meat-loving Dominicans! I hesitated to write this review because so far it's been a best-kept secret. But the owners (Taiwanese) are doing such a good thing -- everyone should know. This place is a bit hard to find. It's not well marked and looks like any other house on a residential street, overgrown with bushes. The name is weird in itself, and hard to see on the door because it's written on a piece of paper that has faded. But don't miss this place. It's really been my salvation in the land of platanos, pollo and yucca.
