Due to high surf conditions we could not enter the water to snorkel. Would recommend a snorkling experience by boat if you want to experience the "bubbles".

The hot water seeping from the volcanic vents creates small bubbles in the water, hence Champagne beach. The warm water attracts an interesting and wide variety of fish, and turtles...and snorkelers. There are a couple of Spanish canons to be seen on the sea floor, as well.

We took a Champagne reef snorkel tour with Al Diving. It was excellent...well organized from start to finish. Their equipment is good and the communications throughout were excellent. We arrived by boat and avoided the rocky beach.

This is definitely a worth-while activity if you are in the area. But it is not a destination to travel to just for the snorkelling.

This is a unique snorkeling experience with bubbles which we really enjoyed! Also can see many fish in shallow water snorkeling just several feet from shore. There's a modest $2 entrance fee per person and helpful walkway to the location where you enter the water. Just be careful walking around the rocks as you're entering the water and carefully put on fins close to the water or go without.

if you enjoy champagne snorkelling and diving, then this is the beach for you. no sand on the shoreline, just lots of big rocks, which are hazardous if you are too close to the shore as the water is very choppy. Lots of green iguanas along the shore.

This is a good snorkel and unique swimming opportunity. There are bubbles rising from the sea floor from an underwater steam vent. This is how the "champagne" beach got the name. The snorkeling is very good here for non fish visuals. Lots of sponges, sea fans, etc and decent number of fish. Very good experience overall.
