Description: Le Bistro has been open for a few weeks. There are few places to dine in Roseau in the evening; this is a good choice. Richard & Vincent helped make a memorable experience.

“First-class dining in the centre of Roseau”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Le Bistro is a gem of a restaurant, although currently only open in the evenings and closed at weekends. The chef and the cuisine is French and uses local meat, seafood and spices extremely well. I loved the avocado and watermelon salad, and the shoulder of pork was cooked to perfection and came in a generous portion. Always be sure to ask for the specials of the day in addition to the (modest) menu. The house wine was absolutely fine and the bar looked sufficiently well-stocked to deal with most requests.
The restaurant is quite small with a handful of tables inside and 3-4 small tables (only suitable for one or two guests each) outside on a narrow balcony. So larger parties might need to book ahead. The view isn't exactly the best (I think it was a transformer of the local electricity supply company right opposite), and for much of the evening when I was there diners were taunted by a beggar on the street pleading for leftovers and cash. Such is life in Roseau, but the management should be aware that this can be off-putting to some people. Excellent wi-fi available.

“Wonderful meals”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

My husband, adult son and I ate here twice during our 3-night stay in Roseau. We decided to try something different on the second night, and ended up back here on the third! Lovely food, well-prepared both times. The restaurant is upstairs in a narrow building in the nominal French Quarter. Although the restaurant is small, the tables are well spaced and the ambiance is very nice. On the second night we sat outside, which wasn't very good for conversation (the table is long and narrow) but was fascinating from the point of view of overlooking the street on a busy Friday night. I recommend you make a reservation for indoors if you're looking for something more romantic or intimate on weekend night.

“Intimate setting, excellent food.”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

The menu is small, but the selections are beautifully prepared and delicious. The chef was very accommodating and willing to prepare a special meal for my vegetarian daughter that was lovely, interesting and tasty. Seating both inside and on the outside deck - both are very nice.

“A great dinner”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

We had a delicious dinner at Le Bistro, sitting on the balcony of the 17th-century building. The house wine was just fine with my meal -- the menu is responsive to what the chef has been able to find, and both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Roseau isn't a huge foodie destination, but this restaurant would be worth returning to in most cities.
