I come from a place of nothing but mountains so i was not to excited to see another. It was amazing to me how one minute we are on the beach and the next there is this mountain there. We did the driving tour in early afternoon and it was very hot so we did not stop that often, but very beautiful views.

Originally planned to visit the park on our own, but changed our mind and went on a 4 hour Jeep Safari for $30 per person. Drove through the whole park an got some pretty interesting information about the flora, fauna and the former plantation. We had a really enthusiastic guide, which showed us lots of things that we would have probably past would we have gone by ourselves.

This was a great hike, but there were parts that were pretty challenging, especially the last 15-20 minutes as you get toward the peak where the trail becomes rock climbing. The trail is mostly shaded, so that was really helpful. Bring your camera, lots of water, and maybe even a snack to enjoy at the top of the mountain! We were also thankful we followed the advice we heard and went within one hour of the park opening, otherwise it would have been much too hot. This hike is well worth the drive! A must see in Curacao.

We had originally planned to hike to the top of Mt. Cristoffel, but due to an uncommon day and 1/2 of rain we figured it would be too slippery to do so. But we wanted to tour this park so we paid the entrance fee which covers both driving tours and took off in the little Kia that we'd rented. On one side of the road is the 45-60 minute "blue road." On the other side is the 1/5 hour green "mountain route," which includes the starting point for the hike to the summit if you choose to take it. Your per-person entry fee covers both routes. This proved to basically be a roller coaster ride through winding, hilly roads with a few surprising sites along the way. I will be optimistic and chalk it up to the rain though, as other reviewers seemed to have found this quite interesting. The biggest surprising site (for us) was all the blue crabs running across the road on the blue route...just plain cool and weird for us Texans. We made the most of this rainy day though by pretending we were on a roller coaster and filming some of the steep climbs and stomach churning drops along the roads.

Recommend doing this on a dry day after at least two days without rain. And do the hike for us since we missed it. :-(

This is great way to start your day any day of the week but Saturday I found to be the best day. The park is way to big to walk. Would recommend taking a driving tour with Peter's Trips, go to this website and reserve today http://www.petertrips.com/. It gives you the nature view of Curacao and with a guided tour you receive good information. Beware of bats in caves and iguanas on the road. You will definitely work up an appetite. I did not see much of the museum, looks like any of the other preserved plantation houses throughout the island. Christoffel Park is more about nature than history. Don't miss this attraction.
