This is a one of a kind place to stay in Curacao. The rooms are cosy and clean, the garden is beautiful, full of hammocks and little places to sit down and have a drink. In the morning you have a very nice breakfast, together with the absolutely wonderfull owners, who are also a rich source of information as to what to do on Curacao. I had an amazing stay at this Bed and Breakfast and I would recommend everyone to stay here as well!!!

Stayed here in April 2013. I really enjoyed myself here. The owners are super friendly, helpful and laid back. Its in a good location considering Curacao isn't exactly a back packers destination so the price point was amazing as well. I'd reccomend this to anyone wanting to spend a little less money while on Vacation without sacrificing fun and relaxation.

Moonz is a cute little hostel on Curacao, close to Willemstad and not far from the beach either. It seems to be the only budget accommodation on the island. So if you don´t fancy paying hundreds of $$$ to have a place to sleep, I think this Bed & Breakfast is the best choice! I stayed for two weeks and really enjoyed the staff, the atmosphere and the two cute dogs which live there. :) The local bus stop is just a few minutes walk and it only takes about 10 minutes the reach the beach or downtown! Breakfast if included in the price and there is a supermarket in walking distance. There is no airconditioning in the house but every room has a fan. All together Moonz is perfect for you if you don´t mind sharing the facilities but do like saving quiet a lot of money! ;)

There's a distinct lack of cheap accommodation on Curacao, therefore Moonz attracts at lot of budget travelers. This is probably the single most attractive thing about it, because the island is not a typical backpacking destination and it's not necessarily easy to meet people.

But most of the time, you get what you pay for and this is no exception. The place is neither close to Willemstad's center, nor to any beach, so you end up spending quite a bit of time and money on the local minibus system. Depending on what you are after, this may not be a problem since it's a good way to experience how the locals travel around the island. And considering that the buses work almost like taxis, you'll get to see a lot of neighborhoods you probably wouldn't end up in otherwise. However, if you want to fall out of your bed and be on a beach, you are out of luck here. The infrastructure in the hostel's area is rather poor, but there are a few decent places to eat around. We also had trouble getting a good night's sleep most of the time, because of a nearby construction site, crazy dog barking marathons or random alarms that would go on for a long long time. Also at first we didn't have a mosquito net, but it turns out all you have to do to receive one is to ask for it (although most of them seem to have holes, so their benefit may be limited).

Now for the good parts: as mentioned above, it's an excellent place to meet other backpackers/budget travelers. The garden is very nice and relaxing too, although it can get noisy because of the same reasons that interfered with our sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful and tried to maintain a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Last but not least there are two lovely dogs (Daisy and Onyx) and a cute cat (Spike), so if you are into animals, this definitely adds to the attraction. There's also the occasional cockroach big enough to deserve a name, but that's generally hard to avoid in the tropics.

As backpackers, we are usually not interested in big anonymous hotels and definitely don't expect too much in regards to quality, so if you are like us you'll probably enjoy this place. It does have its downsides, with the location probably being the biggest, but it's quite a charming place that reflects the island's still developing approach to tourism.
