I really enjoyed the resort. It is on the smaller size but has plenty of places to get your tan. Plenty of sun beds( some do need repairs) The thing that really needs their attention is the food. Not the best.

Room tip: If you have trouble getting in or out of a tub, ask for a walk in shower. Their tubes are knee height or higher.

Need better food options, more beach chairs. Also we stayed 2 weeks and they made us move rooms after a week which was very inconvenient. Said they didn’t know we were there for 2 weeks. Which is crazy.

Room tip: Do not get put in building 4,5 or 6. They haven’t been renovated

Check in to the resort was slow and very unorganized and painful. The room we had booked was unavailable and had to be moved the following evening to the correct room. We were met at the airport and bussed to the resort fairly quickly with aprox. 30 minutes’ drive.
Our room was small, and décor was dated. Little things such as closet doors not working, shower doors missing, ceiling light fixtures that had been removed, a paper towel was stuffed the holes. Our biggest issue was the lack of HOT water with many of our showers with warm or cool water. We had a King Bed, Stocked fridge, included beer, pop plus a bottle of wine, a coffee maker, blow dryer, safe, flat screen TV. The room was small but clean, air conditioner worked well and the free wi-fi worked great in the room. We stayed in room 7113 in a King Room, Ocean View.
Food was satisfactory in most part however we did have a few bad experiences. The Italian Restaurant and Buffet Restaurant was our least favorites with the Beach Steak House being our favorite followed by the Japanese and Seafood restaurants. Seafood like shrimp, scallops, lobster were nowhere to be found in any Restaurant. .Bars – Bartenders and bars were very good. We never had a long line and the bartenders were very friendly and always remembered what we were drinking. Our Favorite bartender was “Zoraida” who usually worked the pool bar. Even though there was no International Brands available, we were able to find local alcohol brands that we liked.

This was my second time at Sunscape, I really like the atmosphere, close to downtown, recommend checking out downtown on Thursday nights for Punda Vibes.( the resort has a shuttle)I found the snorkeling at the resort pretty good but there are better places on the Island for sure but if you are a beginner snorkeler and don't want to venture to far, you will not be disappointed. I rented a car as well so i could do some exploring. We also took a few tours with a Local lady, Letlucyhandleit.com and I must say that was awesome she will take out small groups( as small as two) so your not squeezed on a big bus full of people. She is very charming and honest and is really interested in showing the beauty of the Island! She can also arrange special tours for you to pretty much do anything on the island. She has got all the local connections. I also found the food pretty good at the hotel, mind you I am not coming to Curacao for fine dinning, I am coming here for the experience, and to get a clean bed and meals cooked for me is a bonus. I hope you found this helpful.

Room tip: The farther you get from the lobby the quieter it is, although we stayed right above the Japanese Restaurant and it wasn't noisy.

Do not expect too much from this resort. The food at the buffet was ok. The Italian restaurant was very good as was the seafood restaurant. The bars were well stocked, my wife even got a glass of Bailey’s for her coffee. The bartenders were efficient and very nice, same with the restaurant staff. The room was below average. We had half of a shower door. Overall the grounds were very well kept, but the buildings were very dated. The location is not the best, as the traffic on the road next to the rooms is very loud, even in the middle of the night. I am still looking for an operational ice machine. I rated the experience very good because I understand that expectations in the States really don’t apply on a small island next to a bunch of third world countries. The price was reasonable, the room and grounds were clean and we had a good time.
