We stayed at Sunscape May 29th-June 5th. Family vacation, (4 kids, late teens-early 20's). We had a great time. The rooms were very spacious in building 2. Not the best view, but we spent very little time in our room, so that was not an issue at all. Beach was fantastic for sunning and snorkeling. Bring your own gear and water shoes were very helpful. Plenty of lounge chairs on the beach at all times. I would like to give special shout outs to the Entertainment team, especially Crazy G, Zeric, John, and O'Brien, bartender Tom, World Cafe Hostess..Mismeilin, Shanty, a waitress at Oceana, and Verona, a waitress at the World Cafe. Excellent service was given by all of the above. Take advantage of the free scuba diving class. My kids did it and loved it. Service is slow, it's just the pace in Curacao, but it does take a few days to get used to it. Have fun, we wish we were still there.

I had such a great time on this trip, i went to Sunscape with my family (mother, father and brother) and we all had a wonderful time. The entertainment staff is very fun, and most of the staff is fluent in many languages (spanish, english, dutch). The rooms were very clean and if you needed something brought to your room they were more then happy to help. We stayed in the flamingo building which was one of the newest buildings in this location and it was definitely worth getting a room there.

Just came back from Sunscape. First the bad. The room looked a bit run down. Red paint from the door on floor tiles, closet doors weren't opening, when checked in there was a half drunk bottle of water in the fridge, towels in the room had holes and stains, mini-fridge was randomly replenished some days we got everything some days we got nothing. There was no hot water for the first couple of days. Staff seems really uncaring, almost as if they are doing us a favor. You could not get a drink at any bars close to the beach before 10am. Food was mediocre to say the least. Breakfast at the world cafe was the same every day, and we had a strong suspicion that some of the produce was reused from day to day. We dove, so with our schedule the only food we could get when we'd come back from diving were god awful burgers and fish sandwiches.
Now the good:
Resort does provide transportation from and to the airport.
Some of the staff are really nice and like what they do. The food at the oceana cafe was great!!!
I wish they would open it just a tad earlier so we could enjoy the food every day.
The resort is at curaçao, you don't have to stay at the resort all the time, right outside the resort is a local bus that for $2 will take you to downtown and there's so much to do.
Resorts house reef is amazing and the dive shops staff was really nice.
Beach is nice and clean, although watch out I saw a few pieces of glass on the sand.
Also the beach all the way to the right has nice sand and not crazy rocks like the other 2 beaches.
Overall our stay was nice, we probably won't go back since all include if not really the way we like to travel.

Even the rooms that have been supposedly renovated need more renovating.
Sheets & pillow cases had holes in them.
All towels were not always provided.
Carpet wasn't always vacuumed. Shower didn't drain properly. And after repeated trips to the front desk to have someone unclog it, and confirmations that it was "fixed", it never got any better.

The main buffet area where breakfast and lunch is served leaks like a sieve when it rains.

The premium, premium beverages were hidden from view and not always available.

On the brighter side:
Staff was hardworking and friendly.
Food was good at the steak restaurant and seafood restaurant. Other restaurants and main buffet were average at best.
Coffee bar was a nice touch to have on a resort.
Grounds and pools were well maintained.

Jowell, in the water sports department, was the best snorkeling instructor ever!!! He was very professional, moved at my speed and eased all of my deep water "anxieties". I would definitely recommend his snorkeling class and tour to anyone who has anxiety about being in the deep blue sea. He gets 4 thumbs up!

Housekeeping and wait staff were excellent.

As for other staff members.... I would have loved to book another stay while I was there and join the VIP club, but apparently my skin complexion or nationality made the VIP staff members overlook me while they were more focused on booking and catering to guest who APPEARED to be "more wealthy". My party was totally neglected by the VIP staff and the entertainment staff while at the resort, when we were really interested in obtaining more information regarding future stays at the resort. Too bad.
