Prior to our trip, we had done our research and concluded that we shouldn't expect a good restaurant experience at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort where we would be staying. We assumed we would need to go elsewhere for that. After a disappointing experience at a more expensive place, we decided to give Augusto's a try with some simple dishes. We were quite pleased with a plate of light and crispy fried calamari, and the two different fish dishes we ordered were both quite good. We ended up going back a second time during our stay. The location, on the resort's beach and small lagoon & harbor, is romantic and attractive in late afternoon and early evening.

The most wonderful setting by the sea aquarium, friendly and efficient staff, but the food was rather poor, and most in our group of 8 left food, as the rolls were so dry they were inedible and well the soup looked awful

Luckily we were turned away at Hemingway so we ended up at Augustos. We heard mixed reviews about this place. In addition to the regular menu, they had two special Mother's Day entrees. One of them was red snapper. It was cooked to perfection and served with potatoes and vegetables. My husband got pasta with scallops. It was cooked with a tomato based sauce, and he would have preferred a white sauce, but he still thought it was pretty good. The black forest cake was absolutely delicious. Our server was very friendly, and at the end of dinner, she even gave me a rose. The restaurant does look a little worn out and dated and could use a facelift, but we were pleased with our meal.

We ate at Augusto's a couple times while staying at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort. We only got snacks and lunch.
It's VERY casual, great to get a snack while hanging out on the beach.
I had the burger and it was ok.

We did however stop in frequently in the evenings and get bottles of wine to take up to our room - and that was convenient!
