“Very interesting, Worth the vist !!!”

It didnt focus on just the life of an american plantation slave. But it took us from a journey from africa , to training, to discipline, to daily life and struggle of a slave.

The mock up slave ship cutout was the most eye opening for me.

Pay the money for the guide its well worth it. This place isnt small.

“A must see”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

Probably the best museum of Curaçao, small but well maintained. Located in the same area of the hotel in Otrobanda you can see how a slavery ship was from the inside (and from a slave point of view) which may be heart wrenching.
Worth the visit.

It holds a great collection of African arts and allowed us to understand what people went through while slavery. It was very interesting and enriching place, bigger than we thought, incoroporing a nice hotel, garden.

“Fascinating but odd agenda”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Shows the brutality of the slave trade....but I was confused by some of the exhibits and some of the explanations. A timeline, for example, that had no ref to Jesus Christ, but Mohammed was up there and I wondered what the connection was

Very interesting, and a wonderful setting in the Kura Hulanda "quarter". Especially interesting to see so much information about and artifacts from the African cultures from which the slaves came.
