We went twice during our stay in Curacao (very short walk from Avila Hotel). Great service, great wine, local cuisine.

Not only does Rozendaels have the best food and service in Curacao, it can easily compete with New York City restaurants. That says a lot, since NYC restaurants are probably the best on the planet. The restaurant has great service, great atmosphere and good prices. A lot of locals go to this restaurant.
We went twice in the same week – that is how good we found it the first time!

Dec 25 2012: We shared dragon pasta for appetizers. A definite to do. Had steak bouillabaisse (steak and shrimp combo in a bouillabaisse sauce) - incredibly great and also pepper steak for entrees - fantastic. Dessert - brownie and key lime pie. Both excellent, although the key lime pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and passion fruite sauce was out of this world.

Dec 30 2012: Dragon noodles appetizer again. Excellent again. Main: fish pot, fish pincho, mancho - their "famous" inexpensive dish. The fish dishes were amazing. The mancho was good, but the steak dishes the other day - for about $7 more - much better. Got just key lime pie dessert this time.

Also, bread is an extra cost, but worth it - great spreads with it. And even with that extra cost, the total bill is less than the other Curacao high-end restaurants.

We ate here twice within a 3 day period last week, it's a garden restaurant with a intresting menu.. The 1st time we arrived at short notice on a busy evening, we were seated by the friendly servers, and ordered to start the freshly baked petit pain with 3 spreads, olive tapenade, aioli & herb butter, the Carpaccio Roll, lettuce rolled in thinly sliced raw beef tenderloin with honey, parmesan cheese, pine nuts & peppercorns. The petit pain was a good tasty tapas type dish, which we ordered again on our second visit. The Carpacccio Roll was the one of best dish's we experianced here, delicious!
On our 1st visit for mains my wife ordered, the 'A La Macho' marinated tenderloin grilled on hot open fire with Chimichurri, salsa, rojo, hot & sour onions & the fresh house salad.. her comments on this dish, was maybe we've been spoilt lately, it's lacking in flavour.
On this ocassion I ordered the Tuna Steak with fresh salad mix & seaweed, red onion rings, boiled eggs, pine nuts, pumkin seads & honey tomato tapenade, which was again delicious.
After enjoying this first visit we thought we'd like to try a few other dishes on the intresting menu, so we made a booking for our last night..
We arrived on the second occasion on time, again they were busy, we ordered this time again the baked pepit pain & the intresting sounding parmesan cheese & smoked chicken, salad mix, melon balls & raspberry balsamic dressing.. when these dishes arrived we noticed there was no chicken on the latter dish, so we mentioned this to the waitress, she said it dosn't come with chicken... strange! maybe we read it wrong..
We then waited over 50 minutes for our mains to arrive after our starters had been cleared.. we felt like they'd forgotten we were there, so we got the owners attention, he was quite abrupt.. saying they'd been very busy and that they were on there way.. we then mentioned about the lack of chicken on our starter, he insisted that there had been chicken on it.. but he'd take our starters off of our bill.
That's all well and good, but we are all human and make mistakes, so please admit to them!
Finally our mains arrived.. I had the Steak au Poivre, which was excellent and worth the long wait, also i should add the french fries were great.
My wife thought she'd try the red dragon noodles with chicken strips, it was very tasty she said, but it really spaggetti not noodles.
So yes mixed reviews, first visit great.. second visit a let down.. so we'd proberly try elsewhere before returning again.

I don't typically review restaurants, but this was one of the best meals I have ever had and deserves a review! We went here for my parents' 35th Wedding Anniversary. Everything was perfect from the ambience, to the service, to the food. I highly recommend the Chicken Satay and the Pumpkin Carrot Soup! I would definitely go back to this establishment!

All four of us enjoyed our meals- tuna steak, regular steaks and pasta. The staff were also very friendly and the owner was accomodating, though we did not have a reservation, it was only 5:30 and we were seated, though told that we would need to be finished by 7. We were greatful for the table, most especially after we had first gone next door to Seasons and they would not seat us even at 5:30, citing that they were fully booked though no one was there other than two of the staff who were drinking coffee.
