Owner description: Swings wide many times daily to allow access to one of the busiest ports in the world. It also separates the two halves of the city.

Bridge connects the colonial (trendy) downtown area with the indigeneous downtown. At night the bridge is lit up and is very beautiful. You can stay on this floating bridge when it moves to let a vessel pass--kind of fun.

We were standing on the bridge and getting some pics when they started to open it for a Holland America cruise ship. Oh so cool. It is a very unique experience walking across this bridge to get to and from the marketplace and shopping. If you're in Curacao take the time to "walk the bridge", it's a once in a lifetime experience

Lit up with lights at night. Great photo op. Swings to let ships through, something I have never seen before

This bridge is picturesque. We got caught in the middle when it opened and as a result got some great photos! It is lit up at night too. It's easier to park by the market square and walk over the bridge to shop/eat than to go over the big bridge and find parking the other side.

I was very amused by this bridge. Whoever thought to build a bridge on a bunch of pontoons was very innovative. Walking across it made me feel like I had a few too many drinks as my legs felt wobbyly (and continued to feel so for a few minutes after I got off), but it was so cool. If you're in downtown Willemstad, you can't miss it so you may as well check it out :)
