“Interesting!”

What a great idea for a bridge...instead of going vertical to let boats through, it swings open across the water.

“Pretty cool floating bridge”

This isn't much of an attraction but the views are cool and the nearby businesses and buildings are great to photograph.

“Simply fascinating watching boats and people go by”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013

If love simple things in life - like watching people, watching boats, and generally soaking up the waterside happenings in a Caribbean town then you will love the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge. We enjoyed crossing from one side of the canal on the other via the bridge and then watching as thousands did the same. When the bridge opens for boat traffic we had fun wondering who would try to run to get off the bridge before it opened.

“The only floating bridge in the Caribbean”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

It is a spectacular view from any place along the canal. I drove on it when cars were allowed to cross it one way at a time in the past. It was very narrow and made of huge logs. It is one the beauties of
Williamstad.
