Very nice and insightful visit indeed. The guide had facts and historical data on the cave but also spiced up the story with some humor.

The cave had fans in it so it wasn't too hot in there after all.

Definitely worth a visit if you want to learn about Curacao history as well as see the caves.

The caves are a wonder to see but learning about and seeing where escaped slaves hid out in was moving. There is still soot from their fires in the caves. You have to take one of the “on-the-hour” tours, which last just under an hour. The area of the caves that is toured is not that large but there are some impressive sights to see. There is also a colony of about 300 bats in the cave – don’t worry they don’t attack, just don’t look up with your mouth open.

Cave is actually very interesting and has interesting rooms with stalactites, small bats. The problem - you can take pictures only in few rooms and in our case explanations were given in 3 different languages - and it was slow.

I was actually surprised that this place existed on the island. The tour guides were not only informational but very entertaining as well.
