“Thoroughly enjoyed the food”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

We happened upon this restaurant on Saturday night and stopped in even though we didn't have a reservation. They found us a seat on the balcony overlooking the water. The service was a little slow, but pleasant and helpful when the waitress did appear. For appetizer, I had the Cuban Banana Soup which us absolutely delicious, my husband had a puff pastry with goat cjeese and vegetables which he found a little disappointing. For mains, I had a local Curacao dish, a beef stew which was just phenomenal, tender beef, lots of flavor, would eat it every day. My husband had chicken skewers with a peanut sauce which he thoroughly enjoyed. We did not stay for dessert as we had already eaten too much, but saw beautiful desserts passing by our table. The food presentation was also quite beautiful.

A small band was playing in the bar, jazz and blues, which was delightful. Overall a positive experience and I am usually quite hard to please. Would recommend this restaurant but suggest you make a reservation and specify that you would like to sit on the balcony overlooking the harbour.

“Great food and great view!”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

We have a timeshare in Curaçao, and never fail to go to this restaurant with each trip there. Lunch is a particularly good time to go, as you can enjoy the panorama of Punda in front of you, not to mention the Queen Emma Bridge opening for ships to closely pass by. I recommend the Keshi Yena with an Amstel Bright!

This is a splendid venue, for location, quality of service and wonderful
food. Concealed within is the Garden Room an open air dining area, if
you don’t manage to get a place on the balcony.

In the season or when a cruise ship is in I would recommend making a booking to avoid disappointment. But a must if you are in Willemstad.

“Great food. Great service. Great view.”

Our food was excellent, as was the friendly service. The view overlooks the harbor where ships enter and historic buildings can be seen lit up on the other side.

“Make a reservation for the terrace!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Loved sitting on the terrace watching the bridge open and the ships coming and going. This is a very lovely restaurant with very good food and a reasonable price. I highly recommend the Gouverneur!
