“Our favorite terrace in Willemstad”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

This cafe is located on the famous Handelskade of Willemstad, and from the terrace you have a fine view on passing ships and the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge. Now there are several terraces at the Handelskade, but Iguana Cafe is recommended because of the delicious cocktails, including a couple of their own designs which tasted very good.

“Great Waterside Cafe”
Reviewed May 24, 2014

If in Willemstad and wanting to people watch and enjoy the waterside view then this is a gem amongst many waterfront cafes.

You can sit by the waterside and enjoy the views across St. Anna bay to the rest of the town joined by the Queen Emma Floating pontoon Bridge (this swings open and shut to allow shipping to pass through) When not in use the free ferry is available. Great to watch the bridge swinging open and shut.

The overhead canopies found with most of the waterfront cafes continually spray a mist of water to help with with humidity.

I can only recommend this for a relaxing break when you a beer, cold drink or coffee.

“Great little cafe for breakfast”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

Our taxi driver recommended this café for breakfast. The service was fast and efficient. The food was delicious. We found tables right by the water and enjoyed watching the bridge open and close. One day the Coast Guard came close to the sidewalk and a woman, who had lost her hat in the water, persuaded them to get it for her. Everyone gave a round of applause when they retrieved it for her. We ate here a few times as the price was half the hotel price and better food.

“Typical tourist trap”
Reviewed May 11, 2014 via mobile

Good place to go for a drink, watching boats passing by, at night can be fun with live entretainment. Fun for tourists. Food- had it few times & regret it every time. It's horrible. Won't eat there again. Service could be better. They are ok but it's hard to get their attention sometimes.

“Great View and People Watching Mecca”
Reviewed May 6, 2014 via mobile

Located right on the water with umbrellas and waster misters tins if people and vessels rolling by. Service is understaffed by design I think and you wait for everything. If they paid more attention seems they would make more money. Great view of the swing bridge, people walking everywhere we went twice and started for a couple of hours each time. Food was ok tried the local fair; frinkedal, bitterballs, tosty. All ok and it was something different so don't go hungry just for a snack. Hard to beat the view and people watching we had a blast doing that.
