We have been going to Sjallote for dinner as a highlight restaurant during our Curacao vacations for the last seven years, and twice this year. The garden ambience and serene zen-like nature makes for a nice fine dining experience. In April we were somewhat surprised with the much smaller menu selection, but still some good things so didn't think much of it. When went on September 6th it was quite a surprise. The only choice was a three course meal for I think $49 each, from which they had only three each: starters, main, and dessert to choose from. Even stranger was that one main was Fish and Chips...very odd for Curacao, but my wife gave it a try and it was OK. Furthermore their wine selections were sparse too...one Chardonnay, but it was a decent one. No wonder there were only three tables with customers! Anyway, the food and presentation was still excellent, and the service friendly and attentive. Certainly comes off our must-do list, but may give them one more chance in January, because the atmosphere in nice and the food that they have is excellent.
