As requested we arrived early in the morning for a nice cup of coffee on board of the Zeelandia while the introduction to the boat, crew and other passengers took place.
As soon as we left the dock I discovered that I suffer from seasickness which unfortunately kept me from enjoying the trip. Luckely the crew kindly and promptly took care of me with some medication.
At arrival on Klein Curaçao, a nicely deserted island was waiting for us, with a nice white sanded beach and turtles swimming slowly around the coral. After a reinforcing lunch, we got the snorkeling gear and the helpful tips from our captain to best enjoy the sea view. Snacks and drinks were continuously provided for power recovery.
A cosy, lively and very very tasty barbecue (the special garlic sauce of our captain Rob is delicious!) awaited for us after a nicely warm shower in our private accommodation. The night was completed quite late, after a guided tour of the sky at night and a very interesting conversation with Rob, accompanied by hundreds of fishes swimming just next and under the boat. Regarding the comfort of the private accommodations there is not much we can say, as we slept marvelously on the deck under a starred sky.
The next morning we woke up for a delicious breakfast of omelet and pancakes! Which was followed by a new visit to the fishes and turtles swimming nearby. The stay in Klein Curaçao lasted almost until sundown. The return was calmer, and the last goodbye was still on board with pictures of the group and a last drink on the house.
Global evaluation: A high quality mini-cruise is offered for a very affordable price (and you are not treated like sardins in a can as on other trips to Klein Curaçao). The food on board is very good and entertainment ensured. The crew is very friendly, helpful and kind. Definitely worth doing when visiting Curaçao!
