We had a great day on the island, taking Mermaid out. But there was some large tropical storm (well out to sea) which gave us 15ft (no lie) swells that we beat against getting out. Of the 50 people on board, I think 2 didn't get seasick.

Once there, we had an awesome day in the sand, snorkeling diving, hermit crab races and bbq. The trip back was a little easier as we rode the swells. The Klein itself was pretty calm and collected.

Highly recommend making time to visit Klein if you have a free day in Curacao. The island is uninhabited so quite deserted. If you go on a day that Mermaid Tours doesn't have a planned tour, you will nearly have the island to yourself. Do take water shoes, which you will also be glad to have if you choose to explore the island. There is a very rocky shoreline that isn't immediately visible to the eye, so it may deceive you. Also be sure to take snorkeling equipment or borrow some from your tour group. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth making the visit, especially since breakfast, lunch, and an open bar are included! See my review under Bounty Adventures Tour for more details.

Take a catamaran trip to this island and explore the lighthouse and ship wrecks. The one side of the island has a calm beach with several different gorgeous hues of blue where you can enjoy a day of relaxation. The other side has fierce waves and a deadly undertow, hence the two ship wrecks. Definitely a cool day trip to take.

This is a required add-on to your visit to Curacao!!! We went on the Jonalisa Too but there are other excursions that get you there. The boat ride is not that long of a ride and we sailed back in the afternoon.

Once on the island expect to see lots of fish and lots of sea turtles. Snorkeling is a must! The island has a lot of lizards and millions of hermit crabs as well. Also a must is the walk to the lighthouse and the other side of the island where the shipwrecks are. They wont be there much longer at the rate they are disintegrating. Walk took about 1 hour round-trip on flat terrain.

Not much else to do here but snorkel and sit in some tiki huts out of the sun if needed. Also, like all other Curacaoan beaches, you need water shoes. The broken bits of coral is everywhere along the edge of the water.

We used the Mermaid for this trip (see that review) and this is something that you should not miss out on. It was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable days we spent on Curacao!
