This beach gets really crowded. There are so many beach chairs that belong to the hotels that you can barely see the sand. The beach is really dirty and noisy. I would not recommend to go there.

We took a cab to Seaquarium/Mambo Beach, I think it was $20 for 4 and $3 per person to get in to the beach area.
As we arrived, we saw the beach was pretty crowded, so we walked a little ways to the left and stopped at Aloha Beach, near the little souviner store. A beach chair was $3 and beers were $3 as well. The wives got lounge chairs in the sun while the husbands had a table in the shade at the bar.
The snorkling was good right off the beach. There is a rock-break which you can swim to. We snorkled for about an hour in that area. My friend wanted to rent snorkle equipment and was quoted $18, she said it was only a few dollars more to buy a set there.

I ordered a cheese sandwich on a baguette from the bar ($5) , it was delicious! The bread was soft & crispy and the cheese was some delicious Dutch type.

There were lots of bad reviews because of the construction- yes. I understand. There was a bit of noise going on there. If you aren't that picky, this is the place for you.
The beer was ice cold, the sandwich was delicious, the sand was soft and the snorkling was very good.
At Mambo Beach, there are lounge chairs and canapy beds to choose from- there is also a pool and a nicer restaurant. We weren't after that, that's why we kept going.
Happy travels!

Mambo beach is part of the Seaquarium beach that is divided in different sections. There's a separate fee for parking, for entrance to the beach and for the chairs.
Mambo has different types of chairs from simple loungers to cabanas with prices to match.
The beach is underwhelming if you've been to the west end beaches. There's also some construction going on currently so it doesn't provide the most relaxing atmosphere for a day at the beach.

Once a beautiful place, now surrounded by construction and somewhat neglected. Beach and water both needed cleaning - there was even some broken glass at wading depth. Convenient location & most amenities available, but a fee beach should be spotless.
