Great atmosphere. Average service. Not so good food. The only sub-par meal we ate on the island. We did enjoy the atmosphere, the cocktails and the service was at least average. We went with a group of about 8, and no one really had that great of a meal. Not terrible...just not very good.

We chose Scampi's for our anniversary dinner because of the atmosphere and live music, and both were great, but otherwise, the restaurant is just ok.

The white wine selection is bad. I requested taste samples of each of the 3 white wine choices and all were bad. They tasted sour. I drink cheap wine at home all the time, but these choices were not drinkable for me.
In the end, I ordered a mojito which was very good.

We ordered the stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer. It was good.

We ordered two entree's - one was good, the other was not.
The trio of shrimp was good - shrimp served with 3 different sauces
The grouper filet with capers and wine sauce was not good at all. Obviously fish had been pre-frozen - it had no flavor and texture was mushy.

TIP: If you order fish ANYWHERE on the island, ONLY order the catch of the day. That way you know it's fresh. Apparently, lots of places serve frozen fish and you can DEFINITELY taste the difference.

So, in the end, the atmosphere and live music saved the day. Some parts of the meal were good, others were disappointing.

I can recommend this restaurant, in general, because it obviously depends what you order, but it's too risky to recommend for a special occasion dinner (like an anniversary, or something).

It really did remind me of an olive garden. Very little local food. Popular with the Cruise ship folks I suppose. They tried hard to upsell. Their catch of the day was lobster at 95 guilders plus ($50 -100 US depending on the size.) They insisted the 'water was not clean' unlike every other place on the island (they all get it from the same desalinization plant and it is VERY CLEAN) so you must buy tiny bottles f water at 3.50 guilders each. And the seafood was underwhelming. It came with rice, which was just a bowl of plain rice. no flavoring. The steak my wife had was ok, but don't bother with the 'surf and turf'. They just stick a skewer of three TINY shrimp (more like on a toothpick) into your steak like a garnish. Wine was an inch of wine in the glass. The location is nice though, right on the water. Clearly their main purpose is to relieve the tourists of as much money as possible while giving as little as possible in return. Kings Grill next door has better food, better prices, more wine, and less upsell.

THE only reason why this restaurant is still in business is because of their agressive sales and the fact IT is the fileer restaurant in à row of otter places at the waterfortboogjes. The food is a real disaster. Sauces all in plastic prepared days (weeks?) before. Calimares fried way too long. A steak (ordered rare) was more leather then meat. Grilled pork was boiled before grilled. The only thing the meat made juich was the overkill on sauce. Fish could not be identified. It is a shame this place is still in business. À complain about the quality was answered with the bill. There are many good restaurants at Curacao with honnest food and good wines. leave this place as fast as you can.

We were unfortunate enough to dine at what at first looked to be a very pleasant restaurant. Lovely location, right by the water and, yes, you may even have got wet from the breaking waves, all adding to this unique atmosphere. However, the service was awful and food not anything to write home about. We had a waitress whose face would have cracked if she smiled. There was no word when she "threw" the food in front of us and was the most miserable we have ever encountered. We did, however, experience one of the other waiters who did seem a little more pleasant. As for the food, I ordered a steak, medium, which came up completely uncooked (and still cool) in the centre, impossible to eat. Sent back once for more cooking (to medium) and it came back more or less in the same condition. Needless to say we complained and made a speedy exit, naturally leaving mo tip. Not a recommended place to dine.
