The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Viazul bus terminal (all four buses to Havana stop at the airport : 6 cucs, rather than the 25 for a taxi), two minutes to two banks and 5 minutes to the telephone company ETECSA which has internet. There's an exchange office, CADECA, in the lobby. It's one of the the few hotels, in town, that is on the beach. There's also a pool but few bothered to use it. The heart of the town is a 20 minute walk but there are restaurants, as well as a cigar store and many souvenir shops, closer by.
We were in the renovated colonial building - the room was a good size and there was more than enough storage space. Everything was clean and worked well. The best rooms in the hotel seemed to be the ocean views in this building, away from the street and pool area with its nightly show (which only ran 45 minutes around 10pm). We would have given the hotel an excellent in sleep quality except for the pillows which were bolsters (we didn't check to see if they had others).
The buffet was adequate but the main dishes did rotate. There was abundant fresh vegetables and fruit, although getting to meals late often meant a picked-over selection.
The front desk was amiable enough but unable to provide much information about transportation and internet.
