Arived at Breezes Jan. 6th to 14th.
Golf was included if you wished to do so.
33cuc charge for the cart.
They would pick you up at a gate just to the left of the front entrance to the hotel.
Great little track. A few beautiful holes along the ocean.
Doesn't get much prettier anywhere.
Rooms were in my mind very adaquate.
The hotel is older however the maids do a great job at keeping same clean.
We left a 5 cuc. tip each day and we never wanted for tiolet paper
fresh towells 4 pops in fridge along with 2 waters.
Read some reviews where they said fridge was not refilled.
Did not have that problem
Have done a lot of travel however first time to Cuba.
From reading many reviews did not expect much.
Thank God for low expectations.
However Breezes basically erased all of same.
Now the food may not match up with 5 stars in Mexico there was always something
to eat and always more than you needed.
We never had a problem with food being cold.
If you had that problem they would throw whatever you needed on the grill and
it was worm in seconds.
The people who work at this resort are very friendly andas you have read
frequently really do help make you stay exceptional.
There are some broken lawn chairs at the pool however all you need to do is find one that
is not broken.
Lots to choose from as most of the guests prefer the beach.
Pool is clean and the beach is beautiful.
First time going to adults only and it is a pleasure.
All night bar as well as all night grill.
Lobster night is Friday night and that was a treat.
Ilove fish and there was always some of same at all meals.
Breakfast had a omlet stand to your taste. Was great.
They also had smoked salmon almost every morning and also at other meals.
Lots of shrimp all week long.
The other guests were friendly and always open to say hello and share conversation
and thier time.
The weather was way beyond anything I expected.
Friends said just off the Forida coast which it is however for Jan. it was about 30 every day
with anice breeze. Could not have asked for better.
Of coarse it is weather and we do not control same.
One of the resorts people that allowed the trip to be very specail was the assistent
manager in the entertainment area. His name is Tony and he will do all he can to make you
trip special.
I am not that picky however I will leave you withis to think about,
This hotel may not be perfect but what is?
However if you do not have a good vacation it will not be this hotel or it's
employees fault in my mind.
Hope this helped you.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 168 close to beech, close to pool. Small resort however this block is in the middle...

Our family traveled here the week of Jan 3rd to 10th ....we've been to Cuba twice before and stayed at the Breezes Bella Costa without incident ...in fact we quite enjoyed ourselves so were not new to Cuba or its food or even Hurricanes ;) ..we were put in Junior Suites without being informed we were being located right next to the disco with noise blaring at night (until 230am) ..moved to another set of suites that we discovered later were infested with ants and poor ventilation (poorly maintained air cond units) ...moved to a third room only to find the walls were paper thin ...you could literally hear your neighbor fart (and sadly we did!) ..too many other things to mention here...you can visit our website about it www.breezesvaraderoreview.com to find out more ...good luck!

Dear Valued Client,
We would first like to thank you for taking the time to post your comments on Trip Advisor. Each comment whether positive or negative, is an important tool to be used as a useful guideline.
It is with regret that the hotel was unable to fulfill your vacation expectations.
Kindly permit me to make a comment regarding your reservation. A Super Select package was reserved through the Tour Operator, which is the least expensive of all options. This only guarantees the lowest category of room, a Junior Suite, all of which are located in the same building that houses the discotheque and some rooms are closer and others are further away. Any upgrading is based on availability and at the discretion of the hotel.
As mentioned in your comments: "too many other things to mention here", it is certain that our intended audience will be able to understand.
Once again, many thanks and best wishes.
Sincerely

Pleaseantly surprised with this resort. Couldn;t ask for a better start-to-finish vacation. AirTransat fight, airport immigration, bus to hotel- all super quick. Got a room away from the disco, opposite side of resort; quiet, yet close to everything. Small, adult-only resort, but with a huge beach. There was no problem getting a lounge chair at the beach or pool at any time of day. Water was great, clear, sandy beach. Catamarans available, and for extra $20 they will take you out to snorkel for the afternoon, right from resort beach. Enclosed games room, pool, foosball, ping pong. No lineups at any bars, short lineups at buffet. Ala carte restaurants were fine. Overall food was much better than expected, and much more variety and flavor than previous visit to Cuba in 2008. Nice feaure was the cafe bar, offering variety of coffee based beverages, liquers included. After supper entertainment was really good most nights- short and lively. Close to Varadero, walking on beach into town was 20-30 minutes- beautiful. Money exchange at hotel charges you a premium, but going to bank in town is a waiting game unitl they let you in- 30 minutes outside. Rum sampler stores in Varadero with good selection. In my opinion- high end rums too expensive. HC 15 year - $150 !. Best bang is HC white 1L for $7 . Cigars have gone up in price too. found that the airport Duty-Free is best selection and best prices. Casa del Tabaco in airport has big selection of cigars. Tips are appreciated by all staff, kinda expected to dole out a CUC peso often- no big deal. They also have 1 CUC coins now. Hotel staff were freindly, lots of Holas to go around. Not a high class 5 star resort, but kept up fairly well to make it very liveable, Bring your own fancy soaps and shampoos if you expect those, 'cause all they give is basic soap and simple shampoo. I would go back to this resort, really like the adults-only, no kids, quiet, easy-going, stress free vacation here.

Just returned from my third visit to this hotel and loved it even more than the first two times!

Travelled from the 6th-13th on Canjet without any issues.
Stayed in the Gardenview Suites again this year and got the block beside the pool (steps away from the beach). I would suggest the upgrade from the Jr. Suites hands down if you can do it.

Golf:
- green fees included except for the carts (33 CUC each) - ask if you can pay for all your rounds in advance and you can most likely get a day free at the very least!
- clubs are extra but we brought our own - you can leave them at the club house no charge
- we golfed 7 out of 7 days and got picked up at 7 AM and were done anywhere from 11:30 AM to after 12 noon - making a tee time really doesn't make a difference as they try to accommodate everyone and send people off the front and back nines
- ask front desk for a golf paper (showing you are from the hotel) and ask to get picked up at the gate (go out the front entrance to the end, turn left, down one block and its on your right)
- when you leave at the end of your round, ask Alexis (the driver) to pick you up at a certain time the next day and he'll be there!
- I repeat this point below but just in case people skip to different sections.... since we golfed early, breakfast isn't open yet. We brought ziploc bags with us, made sandwiches (or grab something else you'd like) the day before and put them in our fridge until the next morning and into our little cooler bag for golf
- cart ladies out all the time - Maria is the sweetest woman!

Food:
- great improvements in this area - food was boiling on either side of the grills in the main buffet and always something to eat
- beach grill had quite the spreads while we were there and added a number of things since last time - always have pizza, hot dogs and burgs. Order something from Noel and relax as it may take a few minutes to prepare properly
- Friday night lobster night was really good
- Nolitours night at the Beach Grill apparently was very good!
- Cuban restaurant one of my faves - just a fun atmosphere!
- since the breakfast isn't available until 7 AM and we were golfing each day at that time, we brought ziploc bags with us and made sandwiches from the buffet then put them in our fridge immediately then into our little cooler bag for golf the next AM

Varadero:
- we went into Varadero a couple of times to eat dinner (5 CUC cab ride)
- at at Varadero 60 the first night - awesome spot that was recommended by the gentleman at the front gate
- Kinki's pizza was excellent as well (wood fired pizzas)
- bands playing in courtyards, street party at Calle 90 (I believe that was the name) on the main strip and all in all fun to people watch
- everything is very reasonably priced so no issues with going out
- all trinkets are super cheap in Cuba so hitting the little markets that line the streets is always fun!

Coffee:
- just a quick tip about the coffee...
- there is a coffee bar underneath the Cuban restaurant (beside the shop) that have THE BEST spanish coffee I have ever had! Apparently, the espresso's are great too!
- coffee in the AM at the buffet - ask for half coffee and half milk otherwise, quite strong

Tips:
- we always tip everyone and a dollar (1 CUC) goes a long way
- all staff are always appreciative and why not show your appreciation for them taking care of you all week :) - they remember who you are and want to make your stay a great one so will offer to save you a table at the buffet for the next night or get you another drink for you without asking etc. etc.

Money:
- can be exchanged at the front desk - you get a better rate at the bank but for 2 CUC, it's worth it just to do it there.... easy!

What to bring:
- we were told good quality shoes are hard to come by last time we were there and brought a few pairs with us
- I brought little baggies filled with nail polish, lipstick, perfume and a number of other items for the ladies (these items are very expensive for them) - if you get free samples throughout the year at home, keep them aside until you go to Cuba then bring them with you to give out - easy!
- cheap sunglasses from dollarama are on my list for next year to bring - some of them don't have any and get really affected by it when they are out in it all day on the golf course
- little cooler bag especially if you golf and want to have cerveza's - buy a few, throw them in the bag and fill with ice at the course - perfect!
- I always have to add this into my reviews.... always bring a Bubba (Canadian Tire) or at least some sort of insulated mug - their cups are small and you can sit back and relax before getting up for a refill again ;)

All the visitors were great - young and old, travelling alone, with a friend or as a couple. We met some fantastic people and had a blast! Just get out there, have fun and say hello to everyone. You're on holidays, in the sunshine, what more can you ask for?!

Can't wait to get back!

As mentioned at the beginning of this review, this is my third time at this resort. We did different things last year than what we did this year so have a look for further information. Also, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Adios Amigos!

Room Tip: Gardenview Suites are much better than the Jr. Suites in my opinion. Close the pool was our best loc...

This is my fourth time in Varadero, first time at this hotel. I'm 5mos pregnant and went with my husband and two of his single friends to this adults only (14+) resort which was awesome.

I can't say enough about the hotel and it's staff. The hotel itself is very nice, we stayed in the junior suite building and rooms were large with great balconies and big bathroom. Unfortunately the disco is in the same building and you can hear the bass from party which ends at 2am but I asked to move us farther down the hall and away from the music and they did so without any hesitation. I dont recommend getting a room anywhere near the pool area because there's a lot of traffic and noise as the pool bar is open very late (it's the place to be!)

Beach is gorgeous of course, as is most of Varadero, and location is perfect in that it's close enough to town but still far enough away to be quiet. Food was, well, Cuba. Repetitive and lacking flavour (bring hot sauce and ketchup) but this isn't necessarily the hotel, this was my general experience in Cuba. You will not starve in Cuba! But just manage your expectations. Beach bar hamburgers and pizza were delicious and saved the trip for us

As they say, however, it's not where you go it's who you're with and the staff at the resort, everyone from the reception to the animation team, waiters, bartenders, and cleaning staff, were unbelievably friendly and helpful and is the reason we choose Cuba over Dominican and Mexico every time and would recommend this resort 100%.
- Yaquelin and Mirka at the reception were incredibly helpful with the rooms and everything we needed
- Omar and Jaime at the pool bar were always cheerful, polite, and ready to serve at the pool bar
- Vladimir at Mojitos was a gentleman
- Domingo, Marlon, and Noel were a pleasure at the beach bar
- The animation team did a great job in entertaining guests and really making everyone comfortable and taking the time to get to know people. Special appreciation and effort from Yassel, Yannay, and Yoel that made our days that much better!
- Last but certainly not least is Eduardo, the hotel sales manager, who went very far out of his way to make sure that especially my stay (being pregnant) was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and both my husband and I really appreciate everything he did. In addition to his great tips of what to do and not to do for the baby, he recommended an amazing restaurant to us in town, El Casa Del Chef, and made reservations in advance to ensure we got great service and we most certainly did!!

Overall a really great vacation that was both relaxing and entertaining, the perfect resort for the 30+ crowd that doesn't want to share the beach with screaming 5 year olds or a bunch of drunk 20 year olds.

We thank all the staff at the hotel for a really wonderful week and after the baby is born if we can get a babysitter for a week we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Stay away from the immediate pool area and get a room as far down the hall from the disco as possibl...

This was our first time to Cuba and although it was nice, it will probably be our last. The service and quality of the rooms, food, and drinks just doesn't compare to other vacation spots. Most of the workers were very pleasant and they usually served you with a smile. Some even went out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. There are a couple of the bartenders that should be looking for other employment however.

The things they need to improve on include their drinks. Their choice of drinks is limited and when asked to make you something tropical.... Pina Colada was what you would get. They need to stock the room fridges daily!!! There is no drinks in your room except for two bottles of water when you arrive. The fridge is not restocked the whole time you are there. If you want bottled water, you have to buy it. They don't stock your fridge with pop, water, or beer..... nothing! The food at the buffet we found to be good. Lots of variety and despite what the reviews say, the food was tasty. It was however not very hot. We ate at all three restaurants and the only one we wouldn't recommend would be Mojitos. Our favorite was the Italian restaurant, excellent food.

The beach was great, the water was refreshing. Not a hotel you would go too if you were looking to snorkel without going on an excursion. There are no reefs you can swim too.

Overall it was a good holiday but definitely not a four star experience. We went with the no expectations and because of that we still had a good holiday.

We stayed here Nov 26-Dec4
We both loved this resort, the rooms were very clean, the staff very friendly, the beach was amazing and the other patrons were a blast. Mostly albertans and BC folk so the atmosphere was great. The only complaint was the food. It was never hot...and I mean never we hit the buffet as soon as it opened and the food was cold no matter what time of day! Our first few days we lived on pepto due to the food...we ended up eating a couple of meals in Varadero...where the food was excellent. The italian restaurant in the park as well as the cave restaurant in the park of varadero were excellent sorry can't remember the names of these restaurants. The food was hot at both and the amount of food for the price was great. Lobster tails were 1/2 lb or 500grams each. Large and tastey at the cave restaurant. The italian restaurant makes their own pasta, the spagetti, lasagna and cannoloni were all excellent..all 3 come on one plate as a special...very good!!!
We stayed on the first floor of this hotel and had no problem with bugs...too keep it that way make sure to rinse the sand off of you after the beach to prevent sand fleas from hitching a ride to your room and make sure to change your towels before going back to your room!
The coffe bar is a nice touch and the drinks are pretty good!!! The jamicano was my favourite....coffee with a little whisky to start the day! The Beach restaurant was ok but not great. The food is all down at the grill near the beach and ended up covered in ants.....it was great in the day for snacks etc as the food was stored away from the ants but the evening meals...not so much!
Make sure and visit the cuban restaurant for dinner one nite the food is great and the service is excellent....thanks to Vladamir, his kareokee and service made our nite!!!!
Angela is a bar maid at the La Duna bar and she was excellent, great smiles, sense of humour and always took care of us and our drinks!!! We visited her every evening and stayed until the bar closed at 11pm
What made our stay was the other patrons all friendly and fun to hang out with...very easy to meet new people and have a great time!!
