We had an amazing dinner there with my husband. The place is very intimate and romantic. And the decor is beautiful and full of history. We had the three meal corse, I ordered the beet salad and chicken, and my husband ordered the octopus salad and lobster. We both had the white wine. All which were very good, the service was also up to par. unfortunately we could not have our dessert as we were running to a show near by. I do recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to getaway from their resorts.

We had lunch at Xanadu a year ago, and dinner there several weeks ago. The place is spectacular, and only 10 minutes from the lovely Paradisus Varadero Hotel where we were staying.

Xanadu is the grand mansion built by the wealthy Dupont family in the late 1920s. It has been beautifully restored to its original grandeur, and now operates as a very opulent bed and breakfast hotel. There is also an 18-hole golf course here.

We went there with friends for dinner. The food and service were impeccable, and the cost was incredibly reasonable. The four of us had 3 courses each, and two bottles of wine which cost $33 each. The total cost for food and wine was a mere $245 before tip. That is a bargain for what we got.

There is a bar on the third floor which is the most beautiful you will ever see.

The whole place is an example of how it was done in the 1920s when money was no object.

When you are in Varadero, don't miss a meal at Xanadu.
