“Nonna Tina's has moved”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

Nonna Tina's has moved to Calle 38 beach side. They have gone from 3 tables to 10. Still the very best Italian food in Varadero.

“Best Italian food in Varadero....maybe even Cuba!!”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

I been to all of the Italian restaurants in Varadero and this one is the very best hands down!!! It is located on Calle 49 opposite way from the beach towards the end of the street. You will see the sign, walk down the long sidewalk and around the corner. They have only 3 tables so reservations are recommended, their phone number is 52840554. All their pasta is homemade, pizzas are thin crust....real pizzas, not dripping in oil. Personal size pizza is approx 14" in diameter and most run around $4 and $5. You can't go wrong with anything you order here!! My favorites are crespella which is $4, cannoli can't remember if it is $4.50 or $6, and a special spaghetti with seafood. It is homemade spaghetti with shrimp, lobster and a huge crab claw in a tomato sauce, it was $9 and fantastic. Appitizers are great, wine is $2 per glass or you can order by the bottle. Tiramisu is not to be missed either! It is $2 and sooo good! Don't think because the prices are so cheap that the food isn't that great...it is!! It is better than any Italian restaurant we have at home!! They are planning to move to a larger place because it is that popular....hopefully the quality stays the same.

“You need to visit this restaurant if you are in Varadero!!”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

We were told about this restaurant by a local at one of the markets in Varadero. We were a little worried walking in because you have to walk down in-between houses and pretty much into someone's backyard but we were pleasantly surprised and the food is AMAZING!!! It's priced very well!! 4 of us ate with beers, meals and dessert for $42 cuc. A must try for lobster or pizza!!

“Hidden treasure off the beaten path”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

We had an excellent meal at Nonna Tina. The owner is from Milan, married to a Cuban. The service was fast and very good. The portions were plentiful. I would recommend the "cannelloni", the filling was tasty, the pasta not chewy and the sauce was excellent. The price of the cannelloni was only 4 cuban pesos. Their bruschettas were very tasty. My friends had "pizza" their comment: "it wouldn't be any better in Italy". The atmosphere and ambiance was very pleasant. They also had a good selection of wine and very inexpensive. The restaurant was very clean. You can sit about 20 to 22 people. If you want to go for dinner make sure you reserve at least 3 days in advance as it is a very popular place to eat in Varadero. If you to go I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.
