The Barlovento is the 4th hotel we have tried over the years and obviously our favorite as we have stayed there the last 5 years. I am a picky eater so the food is not on the top of my "good" list but I always find something to eat. Other "good" stuff are the beach, the staff and the close proximity to the markets. We liked the dancers and the animation kids. A new gym is great but the hours of 2pm to 5pm only are poor.
On my "not so good" list....not as many activities as there used to be. No more archery as the arrows were broken, no ping pong as there were no balls ( we brought some) and no pool table games as some balls were missing.
The reception staff is unfriendly and it is common to be ignored. I was refused to see the phone book as it cannot be touched by tourists. ( a secret document perhaps)???
All in all the good outweighed the bad and we'll be back next year.More
