I haev enjoyed a couple of days with my wife in the BPCL and the experience has been fantastic. Very quiet and relaxed atmosphere, good food, and little beautiful beach corners to enjoy a good cigar and a good book. A bit of more service in those corners would contribute to make the experience even better.

The food was generally very good at the buffet but the service was well below what I had expected, especially for the price. This "Adult Only" resort is actually a tiny island connected by a bridge to the main resort of Blau Marine. If you wish to go to the buffet, go to the a la carte restaurants, use the bank, gym, spa, go to the disco, or see any of the shows, you have to either wait and wait for a cart to pick you up (sometimes they didn't even show up after an hr wait!!!!) or be prepared for a 15 min walk to the main resort. Not so bad walking in the evening, but not something you want to do during the day in the heat, in high heels, or after a few drinks!
Breakfast at the small restaurant on the island was a huge disappointment- after a 52 min wait for crepes, they arrived soggy and runny. Limited menu items, and many things, we were told, had to come from the kitchen at the main resort. Michael, one of our drivers, was wonderfully friendly and helpful, but some of the other drivers made us feel as if we were imposing on them. Ditto when calling for room service or cart service. (4 carts working in entire resort-including the main- no wonder staff gets snarly, but that is management's problem, should not be taken out on guests)
In room coffee maker requires use of your converter & trying to get coffee for it is next to impossible.
In my opinion, this resort was not worth the money. I will be trying somewhere else next year.

Beautiful place! This was our second stay in Varadero and I would definitely recommend this resort if you’re looking for rest and relaxation. You have access to all the facilities and activities at the Blau Marina (a 10 minute walk) which is a very busy place, or you can relax where it’s quiet at the Cayo Libertad. We ate at two of the à la carte restaurants at the Marina (Italian and Tex Mex) and I agree with some of the other comments I’ve seen here - the food at the one restaurant at the Libertad was actually better. The staff members at this resort are wonderful and very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Lina at reception, Katia at El Penon, and Manuel at the Marina watersports for the Hobie Cat rides. All in all, this was a really great place and I would definitely return.

Room Tip: We were in room 2906, next to the restaurant which I was a bit concerned about at the beginning as I...

I enjoyed the hotel but I must confess, it was overpriced. Five star service should be prompt, courteous and discreet. It was not the case. When I am on vacation, I am not looking to make friends, I want service. Food is great, beach is wonderful but the service in general left a lot to be desired. Lack of toilet paper, no towels... little things that normally do not agravate me when I purchase a reasonably priced hotel... In this case, it missed the mark.

As 1st time vacationers to Cuba from Feb 9 -16th, we had the most amazing experience from the booking of our trip with Westjet Vacations, to the reception in Cuba upon arrival at the airport by our rep (Israel), to the arrival at the Cayo Libertad and the absolutely phenomenal reception by Danay, who gladly obliged our request for a nice cold tropical drink, to the amazingly large, sunny, clean room, it was overall a great experience! The Cayo Libertad is an ideal location if you want a quiet, romantic, beautiful setting to reconnect with a loved one. The beach is absolutely breathtaking, clear blue water & fine sand. It feels like your own private beach! Being an "adults only" resort we truly felt privileged: no screaming children running around, just wonderful bartenders and restaurant staff catering to our every desire for food & a tropical drink. The resort has 1 a la carte restaurant that is absolutely amazing. Fresh seafood & meat grilled to perfection, a wonderful buffet with a large variety of fresh vegetables, cheeses, fruits & breads daily. The cleanliness of the resort both in our room by our amazing maid Anita, & the landscaping by the the groundskeepers was evident. The property is well taken care of by the most friendly, smiling staff I have ever met. They made our stay very enjoyable. We loved having the option of daily entertainment on the rest of the resort that we also had access too, along with choices of 4 a la carte & 1 buffet restaurant. Anyone going to the buffet restaurant needs to sit in Cheylin's section as she is a truly amazing person that we will surely not forget! If touring is something you enjoy, we recommend a historic tour to Havana for the day. You will be pleasantly surprised at all the wonder & history this city has to offer. Looking forward to going back one day!

Room Tip: Money exchange can be done at the airport or on the resort for a small fee. You will need your pass...

Having been some days in Blau Marina we moved to this more quiet adults only section. Exquisite views from the villa. see the sunrise photo. The team who worked here were really kind and always happy to please with their smiles and friendly way of being.

Good choice of food and a la carte menus to choose from with waiter service and excellent drinks.

Room service also was good one we called correct phone number. ... tips also helped. ...

We really enjoyed the quietness of this exclusive no screaming children Adults only resort.

For us it was a fun time here.
