We were upgraded to the Blau Cayo Libertad when an electrical problem at the Blau Varadero Hotel meant we were unable to stay there. We couldnt have been more delighted with they way in which the issue was handled. We had an amazing time at the Cayo Libertad. We had stayed in three other hotels during the course of our holiday and based on our experience the accomodation provided at the Cayo was excellent. Luxurious, pristine and spotless. The food was of the highest standard we had encountered and the facilities available very good, Spa, Free room service, a beautiful private beach which we had virtually all to ourselves! However the only thing we would say is that a little more information about the facilities in the form of a Welcome Pack in the room would be welcomed. The staff at the hotel are friendly, courteous and very helpful and made our stay one of the best we have ever had. We would certainly recommend thiis hotel for those who are looking for a quiet restful holiday, without children. Those who prefer to be close on hand to a colourful nightlife in a town resort would probably prefer a different location, but we were very happy.

Muchas gracias al hotel Blau Cayo!

Room Tip: We had an upper floor suite which afforded excellent views out to sea, very much recommended.

This was our second trip to Cuba and without exception the best hotel/resort stay we have experienced. The hotel was very nice, quiet and convenient. But the most recognizable difference in this resort is the staff. They were very freindly, helpful and were clearly very proud of the work they do at the resort and the service they offer their guests. We thuroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definately return.

We stayed at the Cayo Libertad over the Christmas break. This was our first experience at an all-inclusive resort as we usually travel more independently. We chose an adult-only resort and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Cayo Libertad is beautiful, quiet and just what we wanted. We had access to the facilities at the nearby Blau Marina and did end up there most evenings as the bar was livelier there. However, during the day, the Cayo provided almost exclusive pool and beach time - perfect.

All of the staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us, from Eloisa our maid who provided a new towel creations every day, to Ivan the gardener who makes amazing palm fern hats to the barmaid at the pool who knew exactly when we needed a fresh drink - everyone bent over backwards to ensure we had a great holiday. Even Raoul, the manager made a point of introducing himself and greeted us every time our paths crossed, checking that everything was to our liking.

We have already recommended this resort to several friends and hope to return before too long.

Room Tip: We rented two rooms for 4 adults, one ground level and one second level. The upper level room provided a better view and was more of a challenge for the tree frogs, but both rooms were spacious and well laid out with very generous balconies.

We've just returned from a Christmas break at the Cayo Libertad and we've loved every minute of it. The staff are amazing and couldn't have been nicer. In fact, they were a big part of why we enjoyed our trip so much. They remembered what we drank and brought us drinks around the pool, just as we felt we'd like one :) Brilliant! Raul, the manager, also deserves a nod. He came in when we were checking in, welcomed us to the hotel and greeted us every time he saw us (and recognised us) after that. That's a nice personal touch which made us feel welcome.

The hotel itself is lovely. It was very quiet when we were there, which made it extra special. We don't like big resorts usually and the fact that the Cayo was relatively small was a big part of the reason we chose it. We loved the fact that it was adult only (don't know if we would have gone if it hadn't been) and although being able to use the facilities at the Blau Marina Varadero was nice, we were always glad to return to our slice of (quiet) paradise.

The room (2908) was big, bright and very welcoming. We had a view of the sea, which was great. We'd been allocated a different room, but I asked at check in if there was any chance of a sea view. The girl at reception had a look and moved us. *Very* much appreciated!

The bed was a little hard and the pillows are thin (we had to use two to make it comfortable) but in the grand scheme of things, this wasn't a big deal. The beach towels were a pleasant surprise! Big, fluffy and very new! What a difference to a resort we stayed in a few weeks ago!

The food was a little so-so for me as a vegetarian but the pasta was good and I never went hungry.

Summary:

Favourite things: The people (I honestly think that the staff at this hotel has been some of the nicest I have ever come across), the resort itself (rooms, pool etc) and the way they make the drinks! They make them strong!

Not so favourite things: Bed was a little hard and the lack of wifi (This is a Cuban thing, I think, so the hotel is not to blame. They do have computers with internet but it's slow and not all pages will open)

I would return without any hesitation and I cannot recommend this place enough!

We were greeted excellent when we arrived and always asked if we were comfortable! The staff and management were excellent. We stayed at the adult only and always had a ride to the Blau Marina any time we wanted to go and always someone there to take us back! I love Cuba...... When we were there they are doing alot of upgrading so great for anyone coming later! But still all the staff is always ready to be of some help any time of day or night!!

Room Tip: We can not complain about anything if we needed something they came right away and always cheerful!! We were on the higher floors facing the beach and so beautiful to wake up to in the morning!!! Never seemed to be any snow!!! lol...
