We were looking for the restaurant we had gone to on our prior trip to Varadero but ended up here instead. There were some locals in the restaurant eating and the food looked good.
The pina colada was delicious and recommended by the server. She also recommended the traditional cuban meal or the catch of the day with shrimp. We ordered both. It was delicious. The chef took his time creating the meal. We both ended up having two drinks while we waited, but it was worth the wait. The traditional meal was pulled beef and chicken breast spiced with a bit of garlic. The veggies were pretty standard and rice with beans. The fish was perfect and came with head and all.
We expected to pay a bit for the meal as there was so much food and two drinks each but the total was under $20.
The only downside was that we could have probably had three drinks while we waited and for our meal but the server was trying to serve two areas at once.
