There is a small village called La Boca at Coco Beach and a restaurant where Cubans prepare lobster, shrimp etc. You can go for dinner or lunch. If you plan to visit Coco Beach, walk through the village, the Cubans will invite you in to see jewellery etc for sale.
You can make your way there on your own from the Santa Lucia resort strip by taxi or horse and buggy. You can also book an excursion there for a bonfire, sunset, dance lessons and lobster dinner through your tour agent at the hotel you are staying. It is approx 8 km from the resorts. Some people rent mopeds or ride a bicycle. I wouldn't recommend it because the road is predominantly pot holes and sand. It's a quaint place and fun to explore.
On the way to Coco Beach, you may see the flamingos on the left side of the road. Very pretty !!!
Coco Beach water is turquoise and the sand is white. Many people book excursions to dive in the area with bull sharks and see wrecks.
