This is a great little spot to get drinks and tapas and even for coffee and breakfast in the morning. Most of the staff are very friendly and attentive and the food and drinks were good. Cool setting with great pictures of locals on the walls. The only drawback is that it is small so at busy times there may be a wait, but it's worth it.

Not only is the food delicious and the atmosphere warm and inviting, but we cannot say enough good things about the staff! They were so accommodating and welcoming. Everything from packing our food to go and hooking us up with a taxi for our day trip. Jenny was especially accommodating when she let us borrow the phone and helped arrange for her friend to drive us where we needed to go. So selfless and kind!!!!! Thank you so much, El Dandy, for making these two American backpackers feel at home!!!

While the place is small and we spent most of out time squeezed at the bar before we got a table, the food and service was pretty good. While we were there, house flies seemed to congregate at the bar - - a lot of them. At the table the numbers decreased somewhat. But, we managed to keep them off our food and we enjoyed ourselves for our first meal in Havana.

Went there for the excellent reviews. The "tapas" menu is mostly breakfast and sandwiches . No seafood. No real tapas. Chicken tacos for 7.50$. Drinks ok but on the expensive side. 2 minutes from there you can find much better tapas restaurants.

We spent 5 days in Old Havana. Our rented accommodation was overlooking into El Dandy. A part from the lovely coffee' and my husband favourite Mojto, this lovely girl name Jani ( la Flaca), made my every visit a true pleasure! The place is lovely and very friendly and this girl smile is just beautiful and full of genuine beauty and attention to customer service. She has such a lovely energy and she is definitely the heart of this place!
You can ask her the real story of Cuba and she will very gladly tell you what you can't read in any books. Straight from the horse mouth!! So valuable and heartbreaking at the same time.

I will never forget Jani, because I have now a friend in Havana.....:))
