Our taxi driver Pepe and his wife Miriam told us to go there for good live jazz music and we did so. At first sight the shopping mall and the place itself was not looking very promising. Inside decoration is also not so nice but drinks (especially Cubata) were really good among its Cuban rivals. We didnt eat there so I cant comment on food. The sound system was OK but ridiculous tin ceiling makes it very hard to listen bass sounds. Our luck and the reason of 3 stars is Roberto Fonseca. He was playing there 2 nights in a row and there are no words to describe his talent. IF you are lucky like us it is not a disgusting place to be and not very touristic as the others say. Try and see for yourself.

The ambiance is nice although the location (inside a small shopping gallery) doesn't look like it. The music was good as well as the service.
The show starts later than stated and the AC is on MAX so bring a sweater.

Overpriced and disappointing...Cubanos encourage tourists to go here to keep you away from the great venues which they flock too. Dishonest Taxi drivers steal from tourists here by giving you change in pesos which are 1/24th the value of the $CUC. When you study the change the taxi driver will dive in to distract you by shaking your hand....

We are used to visit this place since many years. This Café has an incredible nice view over the Malecon and we enjoy the well running air conditioning.
The jazz musician are - most of the time - of very good quality. They normallly begin to play live around 10pm for more or less 2 hours.
In the evening, you have to pay an "entry fee" of 10cuc per person which is in reality a credit for your future bererages and food. We mostly enjoyed eating there; their filet mignon for 8cuc is a bargain not only in price but also in quality of meat for Havanna, believe me!

For the past 4 years I have visited the Jazz Cafe, I visit during the month of July. The a/c is always super cold. For lunch they have specials with prices that are quite cheap. The food is good and the croquetes are delicious! Each night of the week they have a special jazz band presentation.
