This cozy pastry cafe hidden, on a colorful street in Old Havana, is just what Havana needed! All the pastries, cookies, and pies are home made and they have a good variety that will satisfy all taste buds I was surprised to find that the cheese cake, chocolate pie (Pie de Katia) and the chocolate suffle where so good, especially since it's so hard to find the ingredients to make these kinds of deserts in Cuba. I was told by the sweet girl that works there, that they had to modify some of the ingredients of the recipes in order to adapt to what was available in Cuba, and the truth is that it works! My favorite was the Boniatillo, a traditional cuban desert made out of sweet potato. It was so good that I had to have one every time I visited! I'm a huge coffee addict and in Cuba I found that it was hard to get good coffee that wasn't too sweet. The cappuccino they make here is so good!!! It's fresh ground espresso coffee with the perfect foam consistency. I was also told that they soon will have "to go" cups, which is unheard of in Cuba. If you're in the need of some good coffee "to go", this is the place!!! The decor is really welcoming and tastefully done, and the staff is wonderful.
