This restuarant is hidden in a little side street opposite the Granma monument. It is beautifully and quaintly decorated and very cosy. The food was tourist oriented but very well presented and delicious. I had the lamb shoulder which was very nice. Remember to ask them not to over cook it as meat tends to be very well done unless you ask. Excellent service and best place we ate in our four day trip

Ivan's has apparently only been open for 11 months, but it was packed and we had to wait on the roof top bar for our table, It was buzzing with a great atmosphere with many different nationalities present, most had been recommended by their hotel to go there so we were confident the food would be excellent. It was. I have a 40 year addiction to sizzling prawns in garlic, these were the best ever. The remainder of the meal was almost as good. The restaurant area is on two floors and is decorated with Hollywood memorabilia and pics from pre 1959 Cuba. It is situated by the modern art museum and museum of the revolution, but is hard to find. The building is blue with the sign up on the 3rd Floor, but they have a staff member out looking for lost diners.

Jorge, the travel consultant of Jorge Cuba Holidays, recommended this restaurant to us. We were supposed to have our first dinner in Havana at the restaurant but it was almost 10:45 p.m. when we reached there as our flight was delayed in Toronto. It was late and the staffs were cleaning up already. Since that was our 1st night in Havana and streets were dark, we were not sure how to walk back to the hotel but one of the staffs volunteered to walk us back. We were so grateful for his kindness.
The following evening, we went back to the restaurant.
Atmosphere was warm. Service was great and friendly. Food was very good.
I had Garlic shrimps as starter. Shrimps were soaked in sizzling hot olive oil with garlic and it was so delicious. Suckling pig was crispy. Seafood paella was perfectly cooked. These were so good that we went back again 2 days later and ordered the same dishes.
This is definitely the restaurant not to be missed in Havana.

During our stay at IB Parque Central, we dithered around on our last day, and then decided to eat out later on in the evening. With nothing booked, we then mentioned to our concierge where we were thinking on going. They couldn't recommend our choice for evening meal (lunches yes) and explained there would be a long queue at this time and service could be slow. We asked them to recommend a nice paladar within walking distance aware that it was now 9pm. Mikael got out his rolodex and rang a couple - after what I think was much pleading in Spanish, he had secured a romantic table for two on the terrace at Ivan Chefs Justo. With map in hand, off we went - walk took about 5 - 10 mins, and we arrived in the area, to find the Paladar had sent a member of staff out to look for us! They were so welcoming, and directed us upstairs to our wonderfully romantic table. Food was excellent, with a good choice of meat and seafood. In fact by the time we had managed a starter and main dish (large portions) we were too full for pudding. We also had a nice bottle of wine at reasonable price, and most excellent service. The staff were so sweet and welcoming - whilst not adept at English, their English was much better than my Spanish! We weren't charged a service charge, but left a good sized tip because we were so impressed by food and staff. Toilet also spotless. We were on the terrace which has plants and fairy lights - really superb and overlooking the revolution museum with the everlasting flame. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.

The location is close to Old Havana and Nacional Hotel. The food was good, and the service was also good. It is located on a 2nd floor walk up. So if you struggle with stairs this is not good for you. My husband and mother had the steak and they said of all the beef they had in Cuba, this was the best. My dad had the calamari and did not like it, he said it was a little hard. We all had the pumpkin soup which was very good.
The waiter added a 10% service charge, which I thought was dumb, as we always tip 15 - 20 depending on the service. He titled it something else, and then didn't know how to explain it. I guess he's used to other types of tourists that don't tip, and felt compelled to add it.
