I have been traveling to Havana since 1994. I remember the first time I went there. It was a dive. Worst public plaza in the city. Now the change is unbelievable. It is beautiful. I don't like to get into politics on this web site, but if there is ever a change in the government, there is only one person to keep in their position. That is Eusebio Leal, the city historian, and the person in charge of restoration of old Havana. The Plaza Vieja is so far his biggest project. He has restored all the buildings on the square, while keeping common cubans living there. In the center of the plaza is a new fountain, very similar to one that was there a century ago. This plaza is a must see if you go to Havana!
