“Unexpectedly large”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

Very large collection or Cuban art, worth the 5CUC admission. Third floor is older art and second floor is more recent works. Spent around 4 hours to see most of it. It can get cold in the museum, dress warmly. Gift shop is on the first floor.

It's probably a good idea to get a combined ticket to the two buildings which constitute this museum, one concentrating on the Cuban and one on the more international. There are so many rooms that a good part of any day is required to do them justice. Opening times are shorter on Sundays. Do look at the fine ceilings in the museums.

“Okay...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

Only had a brief visit and we were guided to the "important" areas to give us a taste of the top Cuban artists. Some was noteworthy, but most left me saying, "Hmmn." That's just my opinion though. I'm glad I got to visit it.

“Great Way to Learn About Cuban Art History”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

Easy to walk to from any of the hotels in Parque Central or Old Havana. Here we learned about the different styles of Cuban paintings from a friendly guide who spoke English. Later that evening we returned for a nice choral concert by a local group in the theatre for only $5cuc.Across from the Revolution Museum it is easy to visit both in the same day but allow a couple of hours for each visit.
