The Prado was originally designed for the people of Havana to have a shady boulevard out of the traffic to stroll along and visit. It is still serving its purpose. Today you may find artists showing their work or art shows on the Prado. While we were there a teacher brought his class of young students out and they sat while he continued teaching in the fresh air. There are lovely stone benches for one to sit and rest or sit and watch should you so desire. The architecture of the buildings along the way is still fabulous, although most of the businesses are gone. It is hard not be in this part of Havana and not come upon the Prado and just being on it will make you slow down and enjoy it.
