“The Prado was designed to see and be seen”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

The Prado was originally designed for the people of Havana to have a shady boulevard out of the traffic to stroll along and visit. It is still serving its purpose. Today you may find artists showing their work or art shows on the Prado. While we were there a teacher brought his class of young students out and they sat while he continued teaching in the fresh air. There are lovely stone benches for one to sit and rest or sit and watch should you so desire. The architecture of the buildings along the way is still fabulous, although most of the businesses are gone. It is hard not be in this part of Havana and not come upon the Prado and just being on it will make you slow down and enjoy it.

“Nice place to stroll”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

Though I didn't visit any stores along the way, I did walk on Paseo del Prado from the Malecon to Parque Central. It's a lovely walk on a wide marble, tree lined area. Open & safe, fun to see the various architectures on the sides.

“Nice place for a stroll”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Promenade where then, ocalsmtake their evening walk. Often dancing in the evenings and what looks like an ad hoc artist gathering on Sundays. Take a stroll towards the sea, have dinner at Prado No 12 Cafe, then walk it off along the Malecon

Best part is where they sell art, closer to Parque Central. Some of the painting are really interesting, great colours and prces are negotiable.

“Go for a good, long walk”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We love walking the Paseo, glancing down the side streets and marveling at the state of architecture in the city. Starting at the Parque Central and heading out to the sea wall, you will see a broad spectrum of Havana society on both sides. Take your time, enjoy the contrasts and reward yourself with a drink at the Inglaterra if you make the round trip. You'll feel like a true Habanero by the end of your journey.
