We chose to stay away from the city in a small bed and breakfast because we wanted a quiet location and to learn more about the people and their country - this was the perfect place for both. The staff were very friendly and my husband spent quite a long time talking to the owner about life in Cuba and the changes now taking place.
The room was very comfortable with its own entrance opening onto the courtyard. The breakfast was freshly prepared with fruit, yoghourt, ham and cheese and eggs, which kept us going all day.On ladies' day I was given a rose and we were both given a piece of cake as we happened to be in the bar area when the staff were celebrating, it was very nice to include us.
The only downside to staying here is the distance into old Havana but if you like to be away from the noise then it is well worth the inconvenience.More
