A bit run down and in need of more TLC. Very Grand hotel right in the middle of Havana. Easy stroll to Parque Central, the harbour, the old town. Staff were always helpful and accommodating. Large and pleasant indoor terrace / reception area, great for meeting people, fellow guests, business associates etc.
Rooms can be touch and go, we had a wonderful room overlooking the harbour, clean and roomy. Fridge didn't work nor the A/C but the views made up for it.
We used it as a base for 5 intermittent days, and were able to leave some luggage there FOC to pick up when we returned.
Roof top restaurant overs wonderful views of the city. Morning buffet breakfast was best meal we had in 3 weeks in Cuba
On the downside WiFi was intermittent and had to be paid for.
We got it for £90 per night and were happy with that. Obviously will depend on the room you get and your expectations. Don't expect International 5 star, I'd probably rate it at 3 star max, but we left with a good feeling and pleasant memoriesMore
