This is a very nice hotel and I think the best place to stay in Havana. Although there are more expensive and luxurious hotels you could choose, the colonial architecture of the building embodies a great sense of nostaligia. This sense of nostalgia is reinforced in the large downstairs lobby area, where photos of past residents such as Al Capone are dotted about.
The upstairs restaurant also has great views of the Capitolio. Rooms were very spacious and clean.
On the downside, the building does require some maintenance and the staff are not very friendly. Although breakfast was nice, the food from the downstairs cafe was terrible. I didn't bother trying the upstairs restaurant after that experience.
