We had a good stay in this hotel as we were on a coach tour. The breakfast bar area is huge, no ambience what so ever but an amazing choice of food of good quality. Very much attracting an international clientele and the plaza could be very noisy when full. Best tip for the buffet is to be there early as you can and then you will find salmon, omelettes freshly cooked for you and plenty of everything else.
It rained and rained whilst we were there. Our room faced the Malecon overlooking the sea and yes the window leaked and the floor was wet but it didn't inconveinience us at all. We spent some time watching the sea crash over the road and flood the whole area. Yet still old cars drove thro it all.
There is a lovely pool, unheated and a cafe where we ate well and not too expensive for hotel food.
As far as the location is concerned , there are always taxis outside, take an official one and agree a price first. Common sense really. Do your research first.
