We stayed with Maura and her family for the first 3 nights of our trip in Cuba and then for our last night.

Maura's Casa is in a fantastic location in Havana, close to the Malecon, Main Prado, Capitol, etc.

The home is lovely clean, warm and welcoming, seriously one of the best casa's we stayed in during our hole trip through Cuba.

To add to this we owe Maura massive thanks and gratitude for being accommodating to our troubles when we had issues with getting money from our mastercards (note to all travelers take Visa Cards and Cash!)

Maura was extremely helpful in putting us on to other great casa's in Cuba

Above all we had a great time with Maura and family, they are wonderful hospitable people with a beautiful home.

My only one recommendation would be is to book early!

Thank you for your opinion, and very useful the recommendation of the credit cards, was us a pleasure to be able to help them, but it is better not to use time of its vacations in solving these small problems.
My house will always be open for you.

A hug from Cuba

From the first moment we arrived Maura and her family made us feel at home. The house and rooms are very clean. I highly recommend staying with her. She gave us good advice about Havana and made us a delicious breakfast. Maura house is a must in Habana.

Maura's house is clean, peaceful, and located in an excellent part of town. I highly recommend staying with her. Maura and her husband are incredibly hospitable and will do anything to help you out during your stay in Cuba. Maura was able to connect me with other casa particulares in Vinales and Varadero, and all of the arrangements she made were perfect.

We contacted Maura after reading all the great reviews she has here. Unfortunately, no room at her house was available at the time. However, she arranged for us to stay at a very nice place with very kind people Graciela and Vladimir, at a place that was just 50m away from Malecon and a very short walk to Habana Vieja and Museo de la Revolucion. Vladimir speaks very good English, so he was able to direct us to the sights to see and things to do. The breakfast was also very good. We even managed to meet with Maura for a short time on our way back to Havana to thank her in person for arranging this for us, She had some very helpful advice on things to do and avoid in Cuba.

Very central to old Havana and the Plaza, we stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed the family. Maura even gave me a birthday cake. We had to catch an early flight, they were up at 4 am to make sure we had coffee and caught the taxi. Highly recommend Casa Maura.

Thank you for your opinion, the cake I made it of Heart, you are far from your family, in another country, and with this I think that you felt a little bit more at home.

First off, staying in a casa is the way to go anywhere in Cuba. And Maura's casa was no exception. It is one block from the Museum of the Revolution, one block from where the Viazul bus stops in Havana (right after the tunnel) and a short walk to all the sites of Havana Veija. As a single woman traveller I never felt unsafe travelling to and from her home. Though I speak not a word of Spanish, and Maura's English is very limited, Maura greeted me warmly upon arrival and let me know that her house was my house. She was apologetic that her family were going on what was probably a much needed vacation to the beach, but she left me in good hands with her friend. The room was absolutely clean, comfortable and had air conditioning to beat the July heat. Breakfasts were generous and delicious. A great place to stay for your trip to Havana.

Casa Maura is a great place to stay in Havana. We stayed there 2 nights mid-July. It's centrally located and it's only a short walk to the old city. The rooms are in the back of the house. They are spacious and clean and because they are in the back, you are not bothered by street noise. The place is very safe. You can lock up your room if you want, but it's truly not necessary.
Maura and her family are very friendly and warm people. Breakfast is excellent. I highly recommend this place.
