A 'Palador 'style restaurant located in a penthouse apartment of an of classic 1950's building; with magnificent views over the city and of the ocean. interior decor is modern1950's cool, creative, and artfully appointed. the food was excellent!!! One could could compare easily to a fine restaurant in Paris, NY or London. staff are young and attentive and gave great service.

It's a shame that you have visited our restaurant at closing time, our hours are from 12pm to 12am. It is true that perhaps the front place where is the entrance of the building to find her dirty, with the movement of people in the street and the building late at night is difficult to keep clean all the time. I assure you that our restaurant on the top floor maintains all required hygiene. if you decide to return to Cuba and visit our restaurant will be a pleasure to serve you and make you feel at home, contact us and let us your reservation for our terrace.

The Cafe Laurent has a variety of well-made and very well presented dishes, from Cuban dishes to international food, as I visited it with a group of colleagues we tried several dishes such as lamb, pork fish and my favourite, the lobster and shrimp skewers.
The place is very nice, has tables in a balconyand a saloon with nice views and no air conditioned, whe we choose our table and it was very nice, since it is at just dew blocks from Malecon and a very nice breeze and a very nice breeze could be felt, so you can relax and enjor your meal, anyway they also have a private room with air conditioned in case you prefer it.
Another highlight is the desserts!! they serve, almost all of them, acompanied with icecream, I chose the brownie which, despite of being served cold, was exquisite.
Althought We had the misfortune that there was not electricity at the time we visited it it was worth it, because apart for not been able to use the elevator, we don't notice it.

We had dinner at Cafe Laurent on a recent visit to Havana. We were staying in Habana Veja so we had a cab take us to Cafe Laurent in Vedado, about a 10 minute ride. We were greeted on the street by the matre d' who graciously escorted us up in the elevator to the top floor of the building. The atmosphere, decor, and views were outstanding. We were seated at a table next to the outside edge of the balcony, a perfect seat! The flowing white curtains and open air style of this place put us into relax mode immediately. Jennifer, our server, was very helpful with our wine and dinner selections. I had the lobster and shrimp skewers, and we shared a lovely bottle of red wine. The bartender made my 12 year old son a special non-alcoholic drink called a "San Francisco" and he loved it!. Our food was outstanding as was our service, Jennifer was wonderful to us! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Havana as it's a "must do"
Note: Cafe Laurent is only two short blocks from the Hotel National and we walked there after our dinner for the mohitos, cigars and live Cuban music on the veranda. It was a lovely evening!

Nice place on the fourth floor of a building three blocks from the Hotel Nacional, friendly staff, good food, enormous servings, we went twice, once for dinner and once for afternoon tea and snacks, both times what a nice pleasant "cool" feeling, very nicely done... European flair in Havana...

Arrive just before sunset and have a a drink at your table to enjoy the superb view across the city. The starters are enormous so order one between two or as we did, one between three. The English spoken by the staff was slightly limited but the service was very attentive. The restaurant itself was very light and airy - very modern. On the whole the food and atmosphere were extremely good and a we would definitely recommend it. Order a 7 anos rum at the balcony bar to cap the night off.
