This is the oldest plaza in Havana and is well worth a visit. The surrounding historic buildings and fort are all substantial and seemed to be in better condition than most. The little square in the middle had many people in costumes, hoping that tourists would photograph them and then tip them. Booksellers line one side of the square, and musical groups break out in song at the drop of a hat. This is a lively and beautiful spot, probably visited by every tour group to Havana.
