This paladar is recommended by our "Cuba... like a local" Michelin guidebook.
We ate dinner here at the beginning of a 17 day trip to Cuba and liked it so much that we came back to weeks later on the last night of our vacation. Both times we sat at a table outside on the large patio.
The paladar is a few blocks away from Hotel Nacional so we had a drink there first before walking to Nerei for dinner. We ordered the Ropa Vieja, which is a dish of shredded beef that has been slowly stewed with peppers and onions. It was one of the most flavourful meals we had in Cuba so highly recommend it. It was accompanied with rice and a small salad and cost about 12 CUC.
I can also recommend trying the canchanchara cocktail (rum and honey) if it is available. It costs about 3 CUC. Delicious!
Service was attentive and friendly, so overall this was a great place to eat and we would happily recommend it to any of our family and friends who may visit Havana in the future.
