“Every day's budget choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2010

I went there twice when I was in Havana. Extremely cheap but decent courses with very good mojito or daquiri. The most expensive meal was the lobster, which cost 12CUCs (with a daquiri if I remember well).
There is also a music band in this restaurant, with some really good old musicians.

“Best mojito in town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2010

Stopped in for lunch on September 13th, 2010 while touring Havana. We chose this restaurant based on many other reviews that spoke of a great meal for a low price - we were very pleased to find out this was true!

The two entrees ordered were the Fish $3.95 CUC (with rice, potatoes, and black beans) and the Shrimp with tomatoes $3.40 CUC (with rice, potatos). We opted for a basket of bread to start ( $0.80 CUC each) and a plate of olives (from a jar, nothing special for $1 CUC). The meals far surpassed our expectations for the price.

The mojito was fabulous! The best I had in Cuba! Even better then the $4 obe at the NH Parque Central ;)

Highly recommend to all travelers looking for a cheap, quick, TASTY bite!

“Not a great choice”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2010

While convenient and a nicely decorated we agree with the previous review that the waiter was slightly lecherous and grumpy. We only stopped by for a drink and a snack- food was very salty and the wine very warm. Although the restaurant was near empty the waiter seemed insulted we didn't order more.

“Good, but beware”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2010

Watch out that they don't overcharge you for the service charge. They automatically add 10% to your bill, which isn't stated on the menu. They added 20% to our bill, and when we questioned it, the waiter said he'd take off 10%...thus still leaving 10% tip.
Also, waiter was very lecherous with daughters, i.e., over the top even for Cuba.

“Cheap, cheerful and tasty.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2010

It's not gourmet, but in Havana's fairly ropey restaurant scene it's a solid option for good food and welcoming service at the usual bargainous Cuban prices. The mojitos were made with love, and the band was fun, original, and appreciative rather than aggressive when it came to tips, which made a refreshing change.
