The title speaks for itself. It was mine and my sister in laws first time in Cuba celebrating my sister in laws 40th Birthday. N H Parque Central is the best hotel ever and we will be staying at this hotel every time we go to Cuba from now on. Yes we are most definitely going back.

Checking in and out of the hotel – Was the quickest and simplest I have ever known in any hotel I have ever stayed in.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms – Very clean and was cleaned on a daily basis.

Breakfast – Again very clean eating area, the staff are very polite and food is constantly being topped up. Wide variety for breakfast i.e cooked English breakfast bacon eggs sausages, variety of fruit, cereal and continental croissants etc.

Restaurant – We did not eat in the hotel restaurant as it was not part of our package and seemed quite expensive to eat there. However there are loads of restaurants in the locality, all within walking distance. So go out and experience the real Cuban cuisine. Our favourite restaurants were Los Nardos and Europa this one was on Obispo Street. The food is very reasonably priced.

New NH Parque Central – Yes there is a newly built part to N H Parque Central. You can access it by using the tunnel inside or walking outside. We looked around and it is very modern, however the standard room is slightly smaller than a standard room in the old part.

Pool – Both the old and new part of hotel have roof top pools, being scared of heights I did not think I would enjoy sitting by pool. But it was no problem.
Hotel – All areas of the hotel is kept clean at all times and there is such a lovely atmosphere in this hotel. Personally we both preferred the old part because the rooms were bigger.

Currency –You have to travel with Sterling Pounds of Euro’s in cash and change it up in the hotel it is the same exchange rate in the hotel, bank and airport so you won’t lose out at changing your money up in the hotel.

Safe – There is a safe in the room which is operated by your own individual combination number so no risk of money going missing or any other valuables or important documents.

If you want to experience Cuba then you need to stay in Havana. We specifically went for Salsa...... boy did we Salsa!! We enjoyed going to Hotel Florida and we did visit both Casa de la Musicas. There are 2 clubs, one which is Havana within walking distance from the hotel the other in Mirama. You will need to take a taxi. Make sure if you take a taxi, horse ride or coco taxi always agree the price before you get on board.

There are plenty more things to do in Havana apart from Salsa like visit the Museums and Cigar Factory’s which we promised ourselves we will do next time. Santa Maria Beach is 30 minutes away on a shuttle bus and costs 3 peso.

All the guys at the concierge were very helpful Victor, Ari, Frank, Eddy, Marcos, Miguel and Maykel to name but a few are all very knowledgeable about their country so if you want to know how to get somewhere ask them and they will give you a map and point you in the right direction. Remember to always give a nice tip, if someone has been helpful then show your appreciation. Tipping is normal in Cuba.

All we can say is Cuba is a must, Havana is a must, NH Parque Central is a must. Watch out Cuba because the Salsa queens are coming back only this time it won’t be for 10 nights it will be for 14 nights and even longer if we win the lotto!!

Stayed at the NH Parque Central Torre at the end of July for 3 nights, this appears a very new additon to the NH Parque Central and they are connected by a walkway which goes underneath the road. The two rooms we had were very modern, roomy, stylish and the shower was incredibly powerful and the bathroom came with everything including slippers and bathrobes. Used the swimming pool and it is very good and has some fantastic views of Havana during the day and in the evening, the bar next to pool was also very good. The breakfast was good with a fair amount of choice, sometimes we seem to run out of cutlery which was strange, we also used it one evening and again the food though a limited menu was very good. The staff were all excellent throughout our stay and we would recommend the hotel to anyone.
The location of the hotel was in the middle of everything just sometimes the beggars became quite annoying but just say no to them.
We went to the Club Tropicana show which was very good but did not have a meal there, got there by taxi picked up from outside the hotel after negotiating a price and he also picked us up after the show which is a must as it is manic when the show ends.
Also went on the Historical Tour of Havana which again was very good and also includes a very good meal in one of the best restaurants in Havana the Del Medio.
Also hired a 1950s American convertable taxi at 50 CUCs for a 1hr tour which was again excellent, got the concierge to book this for us.
Went on the open bus top tour of Havana at 5 CUCs each and this was again excellent value for money.
Only use the bank in the hotel and not the reception as you get a better rate and take European travel plugs but American ones will work on some sockets such as shaving sockets. Use the counter/shop for drinks outside the hotel on the left hand side of the square as they are a lot cheaper than the mini bar prices.

Good:
- Excellent views from the room (Capitol etc - but had to ask to switch the room)
- Great bed, nice flat screen TV, A/C and bathroom
- Good restaurant selection (at least three on-site)
- Best rooftop patio restaurant in Havana - the best pizza we had in Cuba and great unobtrusive service
- Lobby bar had a great vibe and the resident musician could sing songs from all continents (took requests, and encouraged participation- lots of fun)
- Luggage storage very quick and efficient
- Very quick and efficient front staff
- Excellent on-site tobacco store

Bad:
- Minor point- first room was very dark and had a lousy view (looking over some roadworks)

This is a beautiful hotel. Old world style. Very "grand" reception. Lovely swimming pool on roof-top with pool-side bar.
Food good. Great selection of breakfast foods.
Very friendly & helpful staff & good doctor on site. I was badly bitten by the mosquitoes & had a very severe reaction to them. For €33 euro I had a consultation & was also given 2 creams & anti-histamine medicine.
My own GP told me the one of the creams is excellent & would cost a lot more to buy here.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.
PS. I would also highly recommend the walking tour of Havana.
Please be very aware of the difference between CCU (tourist currency) & Cuban Peso, as some people try to "rip you off".

We have just come back from our holiday in Cuba - which was amazing. Made all the more so by staying in this hotel. It is in the most perfect location in Havana, sandwiched in between the old and the new town which meant it was easy to get to all the nice bars and restaurants. Plus it is in a lovely leafy town square, surrounded by horse drawn carriages.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, which is a must for me. The bedroom was lovely, with a nice view, and the room service was faultless. As someone who doesn't take to all the hot weather so well, i could leave the air con in the hotel room on, which was great for sleeping and cooling down!
The highlight was the rooftop pool and bar - which was fantastic. It had a great view and served fantastic cocktails and bar food. I miss the pool!
The buffet breakfast was phenomenal! my boyfriend and i are vegetarians and the hotel had plenty of fresh food to offer. There was a huge array of delicious food; several types of eggs, pastries, meats, cooked breakfast, breads and piles of fresh fruit and juices and endless coffees and teas - even champagne!
The staff were so kind and friendly, very attentive but not annoyingly so. And i even got a few complimentary snacks from the barman while we were watching the world cup.
I definitely recommend this hotel!
